So I was thinking about places I have been and experienced, so if you have nothing to do and can't sleep, how about some pointless holiday trivia? Answer the following questions in a similar format to that used in the job/education thread over in the Education forum.
Note: transiting trough an airport doesn't count as visiting a country. So the shortest time spent in a country doesn't count if you didn't officially enter the country.

    Format:

    Number of countries visited:
Shortest time spent in a country:
Highest land elevation you have been to:
Lowest land elevation you have been to:
    Highest temperature you have experienced:
    Lowest temperature you have experienced:

    For me at the moment,

    Number of countries visited: 9
Shortest time spent in a country: about 5 hours
Highest land elevation you have been to: 2228m (Mt Kosciusko)
Lowest land elevation you have been to: 0m
Highest temperature you have experienced: 47 degrees C (Perth)
Lowest temperature you have experienced: -32 degrees C (Finland)

Number of countries visited: 48 (had to manually add these up)

Shortest time spent in a country: ~2 hours (transit), ~6 hours actually entering the country, even done day trips to Australia (6am arrival, 5pm departure)

Highest land elevation you have been to: hmm, not quite sure, I'm guessing Mt Fuji but I didn't reach the top (too much "fog" so my mate decided to turn back even though we were probably about 20 metres from being above the "fog" which were actually clouds). Given we were in the clouds, about 2000m.

Lowest land elevation you have been to: Not sure either, probably only slightly below sea level.

Highest temperature you have experienced: probably a 40 something degree Melbourne day

Lowest temperature you have experienced: probably been to colder but a few ~-5 degree nights in northern Europe. I'm sure time spent in the snow or up mountains is colder but never took any measurements.

Wow, that's cold. Were you there to see the northern lights? When I was there in -32, the cold would ice up your eye lashes within a few seconds of being outside.

Assuming this is a lifetime thing...

Number of countries visited: 48 counting UK as one (51 with England, Scotland, Wales and NI separately)
Shortest time spent in a country: under 5 minutes in Hong Kong
Highest land elevation you have been to: About 4,000m between Lake Titicaca and La Paz.
Lowest land elevation you have been to: -2m Netherlands
Highest temperature you have experienced: Over 40
Lowest temperature you have experienced: -10 inside Arctic circle

Not sure about temperature extremes - these are approximate

In Hong Kong I had a bottle, bought in Zurich, which wouldn't pass security during the transit in Hong Kong. So, I had to go to the airline desk and put it as checked luggage. To get to the airline desk in departures I had to fill in an immigration form, exit the terminal, walk round to departures, hand over the bottle and re-enter.
