"Works" is a subjective term, especially for an Office Suite a few versions behind.

It no longer blocks attachments with (...) in them, so it's got that going for it.

I got an alert from my wsus server about some new updates but the link to the kb article goes nowhere.

    Kb9999444
2017-07 update for Windows 10 version next.

Anyone know wtf this update is?
The wsus server it came up on is not configured to look for w10 updates, so I assume it applies to legacy operating systems and preps them for upgrading to w10?

EDIT: now that i'm back at work i can see that this patch is listed under the product OOBE ZDP with a classification of critical.

from my understanding OOBE ZDP patches are generally critical patches that should be installed post OOBE stage of install ("please wait while we... etc).
the link is still broken though so no idea what this patch actually does.

    Nothing down the usual channels.
but anecdotally, many people are pusing the patches back a week or so... once (I wish) bitten twice shy and all that

I've Noticed by windows update history being cleared after the last batch of updates on some PC's.

    The entire history?
Or only patches beyond a certain date?

Just had a completely out of left field thing happen and for the life of me can't pinpoint it to anything other then windows updates possibly.

So some of our staff were doing some probation reviews and we have a standard template for that in word. Bog standard usual text and table fields to enter comments into.

They wen't to re-open one today and found half the contents missing and they are completely unable to even click into the field where the table is, i tried on my same login to the terminal server and same thing. Yet i copied the document to my office 365 word on my local laptop (Desktop app not web based app) and it opens perfectly fine. Found lots of other similiar forms with text missing (They same folders have scanned PDF versions with signatures and all text there).

anyone seen any misperforming tables in word documents?

    Ok,

Mr google says KB4011039 done did it. uninstall + Reboot and all good apparently.
