How to install anti virus on a brand new desktop - should I avoid the internet?

To install anti virus, I need to be connected to the internet.

Does that mean I could get malware during installation?

What if I connect to the shop's internet and then install anti virus?

Apparently that’s what it is commonly referred as.

With work, every so often we get a job land on our desk that requires us to travel across the countryside. Generally the sites are bunched around a town or two, but every now and then you get a mixed bag that throws you all over the countryside and it'd be nice to be able to plan an efficient route.

Is anybody aware of any software, or something relatively cheap, that will allow you to import multiple sites and have it optimise the travel...

I have a formula to calculate days to due date, for example:

Due 6 Mar 2020 DUE IN 22 DAYS = IF(NOW()<[@[TI Due]],"DUE IN "&[@[TI Due]]-TODAY()&" DAYS ")

However if the date is today for less than today my formula displays a FALSE value in the column.

Due 23 Feb 2020 Result = FALSE

How do I display this result as overdue in my formula?

Adobe tells me that they haven't sold a perpetual licence version of Adobe AE since 2017 and if I am to use it I need to subscribe to their bloody expensive Creative Cloud malarkey.
As I already have standalone versions of PS Element and Premiere Elements and Lightroom - I'm not so inclined.

Is there any way I can get AE for free/cheap/2nd hand?

If there's a free alternative that can import the AE project file type, I'm all ears.

All I want to do is take an AE template from envato...

Might be useful for some folks.

Requires: windows, cmd, powershell and word.
Tested on Win10 with office365.

Copy the code below into a .txt file.
Edit whatever you want the right clickable in explorer MyMenuName to be.
Save it as a .bat in a folder you like.
Run the bat to add it to the registry.

Then you will have a rightclick menu which will open word and save whatever you click on as a PDF.
Assuming it's a file that word can open, it should work fine. There aren't any checks...

I have a problem that I am trying to solve.

I have a date in Column A and Column B is set to 180 days calculation from Column A:

09-Sep-19 7-Mar-20 OK
25-Jun-19 22-Dec-19 DUE
08-Jun-19 5-Dec-19 OVERDUE

When the date is within the 180 day duration in Column B I want it to show as OK in Column C.

When the date in Column B is 30 days from expiring I want it to show as DUE in Column C.

When the date in Column B has past I want it to show as OVERDUE in Column C.

Where are these 4gb of photos?

Is it in attachments in gmail? But gmail has 6gb already.

Need to sync passwords on mac/win/linux/android/ios

I am currently using keepass with syncthing syncing the password file.

Problems with this is syncthing doesn't support ios.

Some I can think of:

Run my own bitwarden server with connect using VPN. ( Would need some cross platform ad-hoc vpn )

Pay for resillio, which is across all the platforms

Any suggestions?

Best way to rip short clips from films?

I’m working on a little project and need to rip short clips from films. Not sure where to start. I’m thinking screencasting would be easiest but would this ruin the quality? I have the whole suite of adobe including the video software, I’m thinking that will be too difficult to use though, I’m not very proficient with it.

Hey all, been running Plex on a couple of W7 machines with the desktop application for some time now. I use the tv view or whatever it's called and can use a media center remote no issues.

Here's the rub, I loaded up a machine with W10 and grabbed the latest build of the app (not from the Windows Store - this one https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app ).

Anyway here's where the fun starts, so the fullscreen option isn't available until you are playing content...
