Yea, sorta. The first day I was there there were a bunch of nes games there for bugger all. I didn't bother with them as I'm not into nes. The next few days they went.

Well I got a composite cable set in the mail for my snes and it worked on my 46" lcd with the super gameboy in it. So sorry to Elvis, I'm keeping it now. I guess you should have actually replied back to me, ah well, your loss. :p

I do have a proper game on its way, so hopefully next week I can play it "properly", and get around to setting up the 2nd tv with my snes, megadrive and atari all at once.

Speaking of crt TVs, we get them fairly regularly too, but our store doesn't keep them, straight to disposal. So if anyone did want an old crt tv, ask to have one kept aside, (not me, ask the store). Hell, I even disposed of like a ~36" screen the other day, it was freaking huge and heavy.

Well I've recently become addicted to collecting my old favourite DOS games. At the moment I'm currently limiting it just Ultima's and Lucasfilm/Lucasarts games (particularly the adverture games), but recently I started looking at the old Wing Commander games on Ebay which I feel is a start of an every increasing scope of what I'm going to collect!

Over the past couple of months I've picked up (in rough order and complete in box unless otherwise stated):

    Ultima VI
    Ultima V
    Ultima III
Ultima II - 5.25" disks and manual only, but it came bundled with Ultima III which was complete

My Ultima collection is nearly complete. Just need Ultima IV, a complete Ultima II, Ultima I (dreaming lol) and Akalabeth (good luck with that one!). :D

    Now onto Lucasfilm/Lucasarts:

Sam and Max Hit the Road
    Day of the Tentacle
Battlehawks 1942 (woohoo! that rounds off my Lucasfilm flight sim collection)
Monkey Island 2 (left customs should be here Monday)
    Maniac Mansion (as above)
Indiana Jones and the Fate Of Atlantis (coming soon)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (coming soon)

As you can see I've been very busy lately hehe. Really stoked by my recent acquisition of both Indy games. Both are in mint condition and cost me a grand total of $40! I was expecting them to go MUCH higher.

I have to say the most joy I am getting out of collecting these old PC games I loved so much is introducing them to my 8 year old. We recently sat down and played through Day of the Tentacle over a few weeks. She loved it.

That's it for now, got 2 birthdays and a car service due so I'm taking a break. Unless something I just can't miss out on comes along.

Just got a Master System 2 and 24 games off the forums. Also found a copy of Wipeout for the Saturn at a shop in Hobart. Now to find a Saturn :Paranoid:

FYI the shop has some console games but few consoles and lots of transforms, TMNT, starwars stuff. They even have an Optimus Prime (second ed) still in the box for $120.

I'm still looking for a Daytona USA CCE, it's much rarer and in it they fixed the background popin and added a couple of tracks.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daytona_USA:_Championship_Circuit_Edition

Regular Daytona is a dime a dozen.

just bought one (Daytona USA CCE) from gametraders, going to be shipped to me for $18.95 postage included!

seems they don't know it's worth more than the original and if you buy instore it's only $9.95!

    So looking forward to this!

Got a Mega Drive II with a few games, and a GBC the other day, fairly decent prices aswell.

Was eyeing off a Dreamcast at the local GAME store, they want WAY to much for it thou (300 bucks....), its somewhat off putting, that and the GF wants me to get a NES so she can complete "her" Nintendo collection....

Found a box with ~20 oldschool adventure games at the flea market this morning. Mostly Sierra stuff from the late 80s. I was so stoked I didn't even try to haggle. Cost me $30 all up.

Some titles in the box (off the top of my head): Police Quest 1 & 2, Lesiure Suit Larry 2 & 5, Space Quest 2, King's Quest 2, 3 4, 5, The Colonel's Bequest, Gold Rush, The Black Cauldron... and a bunch of others.

All appear to be complete and most are in pretty good condition. I'll post pics tonight :D :D :D

    There's some interesting stuff here:
    - The box for The Black Cauldron for example is a really neat flip-out style that also integrates the manual.
    - Gold Rush! came with a freaking huge period map of the United States.
    - SQ2 comes with a comic book that prefaces the story in the game.
    - Finally, KQ3 has a hint book and a special pen to reveal the clues! How cool is that??

I still got most of the boxed copies of games from my childhood but to find a big collection like that in this day and age is amazing

    I know!

They were being sold by this lady that looked like she was clearing out her garage. Some of the games are pretty well loved (LSL5's outer box is falling apart and others are frayed or partly torn at the edges) but a few (many infact!) are in really good condition (Gold Rush, SQ2, LSL2, KQ3, KQ5, PQ1, PQ2). I love that almost everything is complete. All the media, all the feelies, all the propaganda is right there. Only two things are missing: the manual for KQ2 and the special pencil that came with The Colonel's Bequest.

I also find it kind of cute that each box has extra bits of paper from the previous owner. Years old clippings from the Canberra Times "Computer Page" with clues and hints, hand drawn maps etc.

During the 9 days a work colleage of mine was cleaning out her house, and has donated to me:

I finally got my Saturn working after getting a stuffed one off ebay. Slowly getting a few games from around the traps, so far I have Wipeout, Daytona USA CC, Virtual Cop, FIFA 96, MK2 (NTSC) VF kids and a few others that I cannot remember. Also grabbed a 9 in 1 cart for the gamegear.

Also picked up a newer R4 for my DS, totalling over 2,500 installed games:leet:
