I know him from Outrageous Fortune, so I assumed he was kiwi. According to IMDB he was born in NZ, but grew up in Australia, didn't hear a kiwi accent in the youtube vids on the first page, and he it was never very strong in Outrageous Fortune either.

I did mean "Grant" Bowler. "d" was a typo.

There's a number of veteran actors who are of NZ-birth/origin who have come to be known as Aussies.

    Negative.

    Also no end-game (yet).
Not sure what impact the game will have on the TV show... (lol?)

That's because the show is yet to start...

You might find your answer here, particularly this video:

    Thanks XcomSam1 for the codes.

Just entered in 120 codes while waiting for the game to download... and now I got to go to work :(

A bit tedious, the fastest way I could do it was

    1. Doubleclick code
    2. CTRL+C (COPY)
    3. CTRL+V (PASTE)
    4. Backspace (to delete space after the code)
    5. SUBMIT CODE

remove step 4 by using a list that doesn't have spaces on the end of the codes... think i posted a link earlier... i used this one http://orcz.com/Defiance:_Arkfall_Codes

How are you guys finding latency playing? I keep feeling like its running a second or two behind. Ill press to switch weapon and 2 seconds later (yep, I timed it) the gun will be available to fire. Same as with getting on the ATV....go up, press X (yep, using a controller - sue me)....wait.....gets on.

Just feels laggy, yet has no way to see ping =\

I agree that getting on/in your vehicle and switching weapons is a bit delayed but thankfully the actual shooting at enemies feels really good.

I'm not sure if the vehicle stuff is a bug or not sometimes I go to get in that red dodge and it won't go anywhere and I have to get out and press V again and get in again and it will work.

The most annoying part is when you want to jump off your ATV at the EGO girl and you spam E and end up jumping off about 20 meters down the road and have to walk back up to her.

Pretty minor considering the shooting works fine but would be great if they did something to fix this.

Pretty sure those actions are designed to take a set amount of time for balance reasons. Weapon swap time seems to vary based on different weapon types, and always seems consistent to me (for a given loadout). I would expect it is a client-side action too, independent of ping.

You should be able to use the task manager, haven't tried with defiance, but its worked for any other online game i've tried
    Task Manager>Performance>Resource Monitor>Network>TCP Connections

Sure you weren't going too fast?
You won't bail out if going too fast or too slow.

Even so i have noticed a few oddities with vehicles also, just random shit. But not with weapons/swapping.

anyone with a car instead of a quad bike notice that getting in the "wrong" side of the car means you can't drive it?

i get in the aussie side of my dodge and it won't move... lol

Hmm maybe you are right about going too fast... That's kind of annoying though, if you let us jump 10 feet in the air why not let us jumping off our bikes at top speed?

I've never managed to sit in the passenger seat of my own car. If i've been on the wrong side there is no option to get in.
I wonder if that's a bug, or meant to let you do that so you have the option to let your group member drive. Were you in a group at the time you did it?
Rollers do carry 2 people, and cerberus 3 (i think).

LOL this explains the 'bug' I was talking about earlier where I get in the car and it doesnt move.

It never occured to me that they would have seperate sides to get in.

I naturally go to the aussie drivers side door also.

Now that you mention it, this would be something that us Aussies need to consider for the most part, but this never actually occurred to me this time around.

On that, my gameplay lag appears minimal. I know this will change when more people start playing from this week, as the game hasn't been released by all vendors yet (ebgames, for instance, isn't releasing it until this Thursday).

There's also the factor that since the game is cross-platform, not everyone will be zerg-rushing for the PC servers, so it could be an even spread across PC, XBOX and PS.
