Haha. Yeah, the price does seem quite cheap...

Also, new favourite quote of the... Decade... Lol

"will this work for mac? Most hard drives don't because they're not as superior as a mac"

I doubt it will be in the case more than 5 minutes anyway. Drives want to be free ;)

is there evidence of a high failure rate on larger capacity (3TB+) drives from Seagate? - Reason I ask is I don't recall having read about any failing; only the yesteryear lower capacity (1.5TB and lower) ones.

Well, it isn't evidence of general failure, but I just got a NAS and they have a blurb on the site saying that they used to have seagate 4tb DM whatevers on their compatible list but they had to take them off because they've been getting complaints..... They are no longer recommended for that NAS. Doesn't mean there's something wrong across the board, but......

Well I was burnt by a 100% failure rate of my 4 x 4TB seagates and I have heard many reports from other people with the same issues (ST4000DM000) so "burnt once never again I always say".

I have had over 20 hitachi drives and only had 1 with bad sectors, never had one fail completely so I'll stick with them :)

Decent price but I would prefer them to be under $250 before I jump in

Whats the deal with Hitachi vs Toshiba now, cant they make up their minds on what brand to use lol.

    I have a 0% failure rate on my 8 x 4tb SGs..they've been as reliable as the 8 x 4tb Hitachi Coolspins alongside them...
