    Hi all,

I'm on an Asus Maximus XI Gene Z390 mobo with a 9700KF but it will no longer boost or overclock past 3600mhz. It's overclocked before... 4800mhz for months.

I followed a guide from 'Boost Media' on Asus Z390 Quick Overclock i7 9700K
    on YT but no luck.
I've update the bios to 1802 and to 1901 and back to 1802. I've cleared cmos, taken out the mobo battery. Changed the power option in windows.... zip!

I've run Heaven and played Metro Exodus but doesn't go past 3600mhz

I'm not really sure what to do... have i broken it!?

    Cheers

I kept getting blue screens at the start up of my PC 'KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED: interlppm.sys'

I went on youtube to look for a fix... and tried it. I didnt work of course lol (even tho it says "Solved' in the title). The next day i noticed my 9700K wouldnt o/c past 3600mhz. I tried everything i knew to do but it still wouldn't budge. Then i remembered that i tried to fix the blue screen.... so i undid the 'fix' and it started overclocking again.....

    Total pain in the arse...

But i also noticed that my GSkill Ram wont overclock to 3600mhz even using XMP (PC will only start to the bios each time).... it just sits at 3200mhz at 1.35v

    oh well

no luck :upset:... keeps stating safe mode push F1 to open bios. I've set it to manual now 3200mhz 1.35v and it works
    This ram (2 x 16gb CL16 Trident Z 3600mhz) has o/c before. Just that lately it wont...

Did you change any settings in Bios Recently? Bios Update?

I would try a revert to bios default settings and try again.
