Decided to go with the Kali LP-UNF (X4-> 3.5mm to RCA ->UNF, speakers 85cm away on my desk) and so far I like what I hear, definite step up compared to the g906 speakers. I listen to a variety of music from 70's classic rock, 80s, R&B, HipHop. Still leaning towards a sub so the WS-6.2 may be an easy pairing. I will give my Ifi micro Signature Heaphone Dac a go as it should sound better.
Nice one, congrats! How do you find them for general use, such as videos/movies? Are voices clear/prominent enough when not isolated? RE DAC: We can't actually hear/discern differences between DACs which are well-enough implemented; they don't colour sound unless there's audible distortion.
just a follow-up, my Kali WS-6.2 Sub arrived today, all hooked up using the crossover in the sub (Creative X4->RCA-> Kali WS-6.2 Sub-> Balanced XLR to TRS -> Kalil LP-UNF). What a difference this sub makes, a much fuller sound, the low end feels clean and tight.
I also ended up getting a pair. Obviously have nothing on my R3s however they're really good for desktop speakers; I actually prefer them to my former LS50Ws.
Hehe yeah I've certainly been around the traps. How're you, it's been a while! You got a setup these days?
Yeah but nothing special, just one of those cheapie voll setups, really need to upgrade it given I sit at this desk all day haha. Got a JV60 build for the living room I'm pretty happy with, a local shop in Brisbane (Stereotech, fantastic bloke) cut me out the cabinets for it. One day I'll get nicer stuff
