I will be pre-ordering just as soon as I can :)
You're kind of right in that the A9 has no blackout in silent mode, but only for shorter exposures :)
Not sure how you think silent mode will show a timer on the screen, but in any case mechanical shutter is required for exposures longer than 1/8th.
It definitely varies between lenses. The E-mount 35 Art focuses quite well (despite the 35mm being the oldest in the series), whereas the much...
Doesn't look like it.
I shoot RAW+JPG to both cards.
You can select the playback card under the playback section of the menu.
The A7iii is a great buy, I just assumed if you owned a 1DX you might shoot a lot of fast action where the A9 excels.
I find the third-gen Sony...
You hear that feedback because people are stupid.
The menu has more options because more of the camera is customisable than most DSLR's. You can...
What are you missing? I read the manual the other day and figured it covered everything...it works the same as all first-party flashes anyway.
If you want fast and wide, MFT is a constraint.
10% of the price for something that's useless vs 70% for something that works though :p
Sigma + Metabones are the standards.
They're actually quite light cameras.
If you are interested in performance at f/11 I daresay there are far cheaper lenses that can satisfy you.
It's basically the same at all...
Insurance, as mentioned above.
Gear is probably fine for the type of stuff you're describing. You'd want a backup body in case you have a shoot...
It's $550 at Sony but only $400 at Ryda so I don't think you're losing out on much
Looks like the EOS R doesn't crop for 1080p, you are correct.
If anyone else is considering burning 11 minutes 21 seconds of their life, he needs a flippy screen, Canon has it and Sony doesn't.
OP wants FF...
When they're moving fast, probably not. But depending on what you're shooting, there's potential.
Not sure how well this will work on...
I use three V860II's (Nikon mount) exclusively off-camera with my Sony, they work perfectly. I use manual instead of TTL but should be fine...
I can see how some people would feel that way, but examples are examples.
