You also stated it was a tight fit. A smaller card can offer better cable management.
You'd probably have problems getting a gpu in them. But if you get a low profile or small card like this one....

It could be a PSU problem Or SSD (OCZ are horrible). Could even be CPU prob. I can't really know for sure could be a problem with overclocking...
