LOL @ that graph scaling. Even the bar length difference between 213 to 219 is shorter than 219 to 222

I wish manufactures would stop treating their consumers like chumps.

what a monumental waste of time and money this comet lake garbage is.

merely re-badged coffee lakes with some exta cores and pins.

    Anti-consumerism at it's best.

Looks like JD got the pricing of some Z490 motherboards already, pricing are about the same as X570 board if not more expensive just as expected. I found a pricing chart here which should be indicative of the Aussie pricing as pricing of MB in China is about the same or more expensive than Aus particularly flagship board: https://h.bilibili.com/72437550

Edit: Looks like our retailer got the pricing of Z490 boards, I guess I will need to wait til discount and the pricing is all over the place with sub 300 $Z490I Phantom Gaming ITX/TB3 from Scorptec which looks like a real bargain (probably they put the wrong price all other retailers are listing this board around 530).

Seem's that we're left paying for the Australian tax once again. US pricing has the cheapest motherboards at $150USD/$234AUD, which even with the $23 GST added is still $50 short of the $300 price tag that is being asked here.

$1500 for a mainstream chipset mobo is insane. Over $2000 is just plain stupid.

Obviously the prices will fall a bit after release.. Still nothing of interest here pricewise, they're basically all what you'd expect vs z390 pricing

is there no other chipset offerings initially then? Kind of nulls any hint of value the lower end models might have offered if not

I doubt we are going to get any at launch (20 May is the date sale begins) considering the shortage and the logistics must be driving up the cost, I will check out Taobao see if there is any 10th gen OEM CPU for reasonable price considering this platform will only last about half of a year.

Motherboard pricing seems pretty similar to X570, I have the Asus X570 Gaming E (369 PLE) Z490 Gaming E ($399 Sorptec from link above ) so while expensive not so bad. Will be cheaper chipsets as well and while you can't OC on the lower end chipsets like you can with AM4 its not like you get much out of Ryzen 3000 OC anyway.

Once Ryzen 4000 comes out we will most likely end up in about situation we are in now, if you have a 2080/TI are run 1080p or 1440p get a high end Intel chip, if you run 4K or a lower end GPU get whatever is cheaper as it will not matter. If you want multitasking performance get AMD .

Intel might've just notched a point in their favour, since AMD just announced that there will be no Zen 3 support for B450/X470, and will be X570/B550 only. Given that now it's confirmed that both platforms are dead and with X570 still costing stupid amounts of money, the playing fields have been levelled somewhat.

I found CPU silicon quality chart from MSI's PPT, looks like you have to get 10900K/KF if you want something good

thinking of playing around with this, been a while!

give the mrs the 8606k and z390 strix, sell the 6100/z170, and buy an i7 and z490 itx. need that extra 2-3% boost!

Oh god, yet again seeing stupid charts that don't actually add up or give correct information. I'd love to know who actually created it so I could give them a blasting. Nothing works when percentages don't cover a full picture to 100%. #ImTriggered

MSI probably left out the CPUs which cannot overclock at all despite the chip is unlocked for overclocking just some like Samsung Bdie kits these days with no OC headroom :(
