well a 9900K has 8 vs 10 cores so of course It's drawing more power.
It looks like atm the motherboard are more interesting than the 10th CPU's
Yes, but at that voltage with the same cooling setup a 9900k will be running at 65 - 70c. For essentially the same chip, with +2 cores and a thinner die to be 20 - 30c hotter than that simply means something is wrong with the cooler, the ambient in the test room was like 40c or it's clickbait.
I know that this thread is essentially the 10900k hate train - but those numbers don't stack up.
Let’s just wait and see, shall we?
Na, let's just say it's shit now and keep doing so
What up with you matey I remember you were a youngster doing OC. Only person stops you doing overclocking is you.
Macsbeach + bullants legends you know both doing OC. Warp9 team many guys +60 age all doing OC on low cost hardware.
Not looking site CBF'd. Does not sound right on the cooling.
If I reference my 6core 8086K vs 8core 9900KS in 3D benches 5.4Ghz. I expect the temp difference is about 10c on load.
Sorry if re post.
I'm going for an Apex XII and the new chip.
Got to give it a go and see if it's better than a 9900ks .
Seems strange you have to buy the board a while before chip is released
I don't really have the inclination to jump back in mate, just an observation of the cost of playing at the pointy end of enthusiast hw these days. I always did love me a good whinge
As regarding the thread, I just seen ple has put up pre order of 10th gen chips 10900kf $899 and the 10900k $999...22 this month
WTF 429 for a 10600KF and 479 for a 10600K no thanks, I bought a brand new 9700K for less than this off the forum not that long ago... I will report back Taobao's OEM chip pricing and see what it is like over there.
10900K for 949 after discount, this toy is just too expensive with too little gain
Edit: No 10th Gen OEM chip listings on Taobao atm...
looks about right for price.
recommended customer price :237 usd
X 1.6 usd/aud conversion + 10%ish gets you the price in aud...basically.
9700k isnt hyperthreaded. and yet labelled an i7 . annoying.
z490 boards. midrange are over 300aud. but seriously who spends 1000's on a motherboard? it's crazy shit.
but the price on the 6/12 offering is not too shabby. considering what the prices on the 8700k were.
460+aud, 10600k. not too shabby at all.
i bet they tout supply issues in the states to gouge pricing. on the 10900k in particular. the new king of swing .
thats 860aud if you do the conversion. but it'll be price gouged to death. and sit on top of the 3900x 12c/24t in performance? not sure.
the performance of their new 8/16 chip will be interesting to see.
wheres the i3 chips dammit! so keen to see their new i3's vs the Ryzen 3 - 4c/8t is what i what to know!
999 for 90+ degree temps under high end cooling humm..
Id certainly wait for ryzen 4000 before committing to these.
8700k doing me fine for gaming, though it's sad that my new laptop has more Cores then it (4800H)
As expected, prices are rubbish considering what you get. Another nail in Intel's consumer CPU coffin.
3600 $299 vs 10400F\ $299-339 <3 runs on the same system two at 2133 one at 3600c18
AMD ~0-6% faster
3700X $529 vs 10600KF\K $449\499 <Decent system 3600c18 RAM
Intel 8-10% faster up to 4 cores
AMD 4% faster at 8 cores and 26% faster with multithreading.
3700X $529 vs 10700KF\K $699\749 <HP system
Intel 3-15% Faster
3900X $779 vs 10900KF\K $899\999 <A Decent system with 3600c18 RAM and another with 2400
Intel 14-18% faster 1-8 threads
AMD 3% faster MT
3950X $1299 is the same but 36% faster MT.
I know userbenchmark has some BS on there sites but these % numbers above should be accurate despite that.
If anything they show AMD in a more favorable light as the benchmark is not overly sensitive to latency although it still sees a bigger change from core\memory latency than Cinebench.
How are you getting performance numbers before launch?
While we're at it, where are you getting KF prices from?
When can we expect reviews/benchmarks? Are we waiting for NDA to be lifted or something?
user benchmark.. nuff said
if A 4.4/4.7Ghz 8700K is slower MT, and only a smidgen faster (single digit %) ST than a Ryzen 3600 , how is a 4.0/4.3Ghz 10400 going to keep up?
It's a pity... it looks like ol mate put so much effort into that post too.
