And Court Jester is back...
Wait... are you on the same planet as us?
Or are you on reverse earth??
And it offers nothing over the 9900k, as you have absolutely no need for more cores.
"ASUS’s Entire 400-Series Lineup Including Z490 Motherboards Leaked – Biostar Also Teases Next-Gen Z490 Motherboard"
Oh shoot. No Gene listed. I do love a bit of mATX action.
Welcome back CJ
Asus engineer Bing talked about the Gene we see now was planned to be the Maximus XI Apex so getting the M11G is a coincidence, I doubt we will see Gene or Impact on the new Intel platform since there is nothing exciting anyway just 2 more cores.
I am worried if all motherboard vendors will just recycle the same VRM on Z390 and sell us at the same price to milk us while AMD counterparts are getting decent DrMos with better features for the same price
You might be right, if you are and there’s actually no clock for clock improvement at all, I’ll be very unimpressed and will look towards next AMD launch. I’ll wait for actual benchmarks before drawing such a conclusion though, I still have some hope
I mainly just wanna see a few % so I have an excuse to get a new motherboard and tinker with new OC. As it stands today my 8700k at daily 5.1ghz is performing more than well enough in gaming already, any Ryzen would be a downgrade and any ‘upgrade’ to 10 series would be 95% for hobby reasons
no core for core intel are still superior and its is very hard selling an amd system over $2k as they are seen as the budget low end option thas still ahs not changed,
gaming intel is still king and most users cant use 16 cores and those that have an **actual** need for that many cores is probably looking at a HEDT and intel
9900K is just barely king, and only for gaming. AMD have shifted from 'budget' to 'awesome bang for buck'. Only the most rusted on Intel fanboi would say otherwise - and that's after Intel pretty much halved the price on its high end chips. 10900K may be a better option, time will tell but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
As for HEDT, Intel is no longer a contender. The new Threadrippers smash anything that Intel can offer in that market. Epyc also smashes Intel for server silicon.
Are you Court Jester by any chance?
He is 100% CJ. CJ always said "ahs" instead of has and didn't know when to use a comma.
I've missed you buddy.
9900k is a decent margin faster on average and im sorry but most high end systems sold are still intel for a reason anyone worth anything wont rely on a amd system for work critical tasks.
I'm not Court Jester but he sounds like one smart fellow.
hahah you've been bottling up some comedy gold I see
Where is this " smart fellow" ?
He has been put in the sin bin permanently.
has he? Well that kinda explains a lot
He is back! Thank the heavens!
EDIT: It's him! confirmed over PM.
When you see a users first post after an absence and you just know ‘here we go again’
This is gonna be great.
Can’t wait for the white power ranger thread in the pub and the whole thing to begin again!
Return of piglet
It's exactly what I called him via PM and got a rise so that kinda confirmed it.
