Still probably not worth the upgrade over 9900k

Looks like the 10700k is in stock at ple and pccg, but no such luck for 10900k yet. Some boards in stock on pccg too. Lord give me the strength to not buy into refreshed toys to play with..

Still haven't seen any review where they have overclocked all cores to 5.3 or 5.4 Ghz on water. Kitguru did went up to 5.2 Ghz all core at very decent temps too. Looks like intel did a good job keeping the temps under control.

So basically, new gaming king but 3900x still trumps it in almost everything else?
I am impressed with the thermals, I was expecting it to be alot hotter.
Power consumption is pretty crazy with mce one

Pretty much, 10900k vs 3900x looks something like this:

    10900k 10% better at 1080p
    10900k 5% better at 1440p
    3900x 15% better at productivity
    3900x 30% cheaper
At stock power consumption is equal
With boost 3900x 30% less power

10900k in some games runs 30/40 fps above

The CPU is sold out every where :wired:.
Going to stuck with the i3 7100 for a long time i guess

    Temps better then I expected.

If 4000 series ryzen wasn't on the horizon (poet didn't know it)

It would be easier to reccomend for gamers but I can easily see 4900x being 10% quicker at gaming then 3900x.

Can't wait for you guys to get the new gear to see what you can do with it. Pricing bit too crazy high for me to justify upgrading hahaha. Will be lurking in the fs forum when you guys get bored :)

Think if I upgraded I'd like to try the Apex like you Zarok so keen to see once you get/test it :)

That's my reason why to upgrade: the motherboard more than anything else. However the cpu look pretty good too is a PLUS.
    I like more memory that s all:thumbup:

Here's the kicker for me, the platform cost is just so much more, you can get the 3950x for the same outlay as the 10900k and just smash it at everything else. Intel need to drop the prices on these bad boys.
    3950x ($1319) + B450 Tomahawk ($239) + Stock Cooler ($0) = $1558
    10900k ($999) + Z490 Tomahawk ($399) + 240mm AiO ($159) = $1557

i placed orders with PCCG and PLE, and still no ETA on 10900K

wasnt even able to place an order with Scorptec, as these cpu's were "Coming Soon" and couldnt actually preorder on their website. But a mate who works at Scorptec told me their 10900K's were delayed, and more likley Mid June before stock received and mid july for the 10900KF.

Dunno, but it seems going to be mid June before i get my hands on a 10900k (STRIX z490 ITX eta is around 12/06/2020)
