Is it possible that Computer Stores will EOFY sale any of these i7 10700K/MSI MEG Z490 UNIFY/Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB/Noctua NH-D15/G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
Or am I just wish full thinking ??
Keep an eye out on eBay coupon codes for PC stores. Decent ones can range between 10-20% BUT may inflate prices, can still be cheaper
Finally Got my case last night- Spent until 1am putting it all together....build didn't go perfectly as the E-ATX mobo even though its supported by the case, means some of the cables go closer to the fans than I'd like...
Didn't have much time to play around with it- but my Corsair H150i plus the MSI dragon software (softclock i know- will do in bios later on) auto configured it so all cores are at 5.3ghz at an 'extreme profile'- ran it in a few games and cpu was hitting anywhere between 75-81. Unsure if this is accurate as its software based, but seemed ok.
Have a few photos of the builds if you guys are interested!
The Corsair LL120 fans are cool (if you like RGB)- but jesus, some bad engineering oversight- have to plug all the fans into a fan header + a RGB header....would it have been that hard to make a fan hub + rgb header all in one :')
All the RGB fans do this - double the wiring nightmare but you get rainbow lights!
Indeed- I don't understand why it would be difficult to design a fan that integrates the fan header and led header into a single proprietary connection that could be powered by a molex/Sata cable....would make things a lot more convenient!
Still got a fair bit Todo tonight- anyone recommend a particular brand of sleeved cables?
I've used CableMod on my current build and i've got no complaints. First sleeved cables i've bought and they do the job like they should and look a lot nicer
Thanks for the tip. I'll look them up tonight!
May I ask how good is your "Splave" chip ? Is it a 9900K or 9900KS ?
lots of ram deals popping up mate, create an alert so if the shiz your chasing comes up on that site an email will ping ya
Impressive chip for sure. Asked because you have mentioned Splave and his chips are usually awesome and so wondered how this chip is. If that chip does 5.3 at 1.33v, assuming it is Prime 95 validated at that voltage, it is damn impressive.
New kid on the block
Another thread says it is ok on Intel , so no need to reply
I'm a bit more of an overclocking noob than most here so i'd be really grateful to anyone's advice here!
Was monitoring coretemp last night with the softclock that was applied automatically via the MSI (5.3ghz all cores) and it seems my earlier points about temps were wrong...all cores vary between 90-100, which is obviously too hot. I'm assuming that to hit that the voltage is too high? I remember people saying in here that motherboards default to a higher v to reach those speeds resulting in higher temps?
I've noticed when I've just put it to default, all cores boost to 5.0ghz, with 1/2 cores not scaling up to 5.3 at all remaining at 5.0GHZ. at this speed all cores tend to sit around 64-70D
I believe I have an adequate enough cooling system (Corsair HX150iXT 360 AIO) and used Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste. As stipulated earlier, running the MSI Z490 GODLIKE.
Anyone else running an MSI board? Obviously taking into silicon differences, I've watched a few tutorials online but they seem to be all aimed at z490 ASUS or gigabyte boards.
Appreciate any advice here!
tullyscurry you need to set the volts manually. Looking at this video from JayztwoCents and see the moment he set the voltage manually, the temps are damn effing fantastic with 5.2 Ghz on all cores, even though his Mobo was from Asus and he onlye used a 280mm AIO
This gives me hope that if Intel releases a 12 core at the end of the year, it will be awesome enough for me to eventually migrate away from 9900K.
I’m not sure the architecture can scale to 12 cores.
It scaled from 4 to 10 lol
Dannyboi is bound to get a better 10900k than me lol.
He always does .
