    https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-desktop-pc-mobile-server-overall-market-share,40141.html

17% market share means intel is (I rounded up ) almost 9:1 vs AMD and that is DESKTOPS only which is AMDs best market if you included laptops + server its even worse

Here you can see AMD is behind by a large margin:

720p? Are you cooked? It’s gone down from last year’s 1080p results

its testing CPU performance 720p removes the GPU bottleneck and 1080P its still faster and 4k its still faster and in adobe and many many other workloads they are still faster

even if ( and its a big if) the desktop market share has gone up by another 1% AMD are only single digit in server and laptop market share so its still approx 9:1 across the entire cpu market

I think it would be less than 1% gain and desktops are the smallest market segment as well lets not forget the actual facts

Edit : I was right it WAS less than 1% gain ( market share on desktops is now 18%)

    https://www.techradar.com/au/news/a...are-but-intel-isnt-going-down-without-a-fight

    server is 4.3% market share
    mobile 14.7%
Intel are probably selling more than 9:1 CPU\s to every AMD one.

that is the most up to date resusts released in Q4 for the previous quaters that include ryzen 3000 sales -- that anyone has and I also suspect not much if any of a gain from there on facts are facts

so what I said intel are selling 9:1 CPU to ever amd one is factually correct as of right now based on all publicaly available data

I miss the days when intel had the tick/tock cycle and there were leaps and bounds between generations. Back when intel actually dominated AMD in all segments except the bottom of the barrel budget builds. Now it's "Tick tick tick tick". A bit like the "pussy wagons" tired old ford motor.

A whole new product release just for a measly 4% is exactly why the lights are on but no ones home at intel hq. Nobody in the enthusiast segment gives a fuck how much extra energy is saved going to a new gen. I don't understand what angle you need to look at the situation to see this as a good product. Seriously wonder if they have even addressed the whale semen that they use as the thermal transfer paste between the die and IHS - for an unlocked overclockable SKU that is just shit.

    On topic enough?

    Que pasa hermano?

because I dont buy / upgrade every generation I currently have a 8700k @ 5.2ghz so a 10 core that boosts close to this stock will be a decent upgrade though I dont really use the 6 cores I currently have access to fully -- but ePein points an all, and as I dont use all my cores 100% I want the fastest cores I can buy that is currently intel and will still be intel once this new CPU is released

4% improvement is not a bad step up on what is all ready the fastest gaming cpu you can buy If I was to buy anything AMD I would be taking a large step backwards
