I'm running a 10900k on ITX boards that only have one 8pin. You don't "need" the extra power, it's just a luxury. VRM is the bigger issue than the 8pin power connection. First board is doing 5.2G with 1.38v (to be actually confirmed)with full system drawing a full 320W from the wall.

The power pulled put of the wall is not the same as the computer uses.
It depends on efficiency of the PSU :)

Each 8pin CPU connectors on MSI Z490 ATX mobos are ~380W and overclocked 10900K can pull over 400W.. that's why you need 2x 8pin(or at least 8pin + 4pin) for overclocked 10900K.
ITX mobo only have room for 1x 8pin so they are different design, CPU connector on ATX ≠ ITX

MSI does not use solid pin connectors so it might not take 380W per power connector. I checked my Z490I Unify and it does not have a solid pin power connector, even Asrock ITX got it :(

hey, I'm just saying that the ITX boards I am testing are holding up "OK" with a single 8 pin on an overclocked 10core. Sure a second would be helpful for those extra mhz, but ultimately everything is going to be limited by the CPU, PSU and VRM.

Agree with Scum, engage warp drive. MSI Unify has a good VRM circuit.

My daily web browser / video watching machine is a 6 year old dusty laptop that hasn't left a power socket in about as many years :Pirate:

Have 2 more 10700k's to test this weekend (if one of them turns up in time). Sure would be swell if the 10900k was in stock anywhere.
