    Your conversion may be correct, but Aussie buyers always have to pay more by the time it hits the retailers.

    Our official Aus Intel distributors simply do not have the buying power in Australia compared to the USA and Euro markets.

    Aussie population = 24.6mil (2017)
    USA = 327.2mil (2018)

    USA distributors have an insainly bigger buy price because they simply buy many more units from Intel because of that much greater market.

    When Intel publishes a quote of price, it is ALWAYS based on the USD price for the USA market.

    Yeah although Intel has basically done Tic Toc Toc Toc Toc Toc Toc for ages since they’ve had all the 10nm issues.

    Still can’t compete with AMD on price or performance. Prices need to be much lower.

    I'd go TR myself, but same as aokman, I run 'That' os, so need intel. As much as I like my sig laptop, I'd like to get back into gaming, so am planning to build a dedicated gaming PC again, and dualboot it. And I'd like to have a few VM's open when not gaming, so extra cores and ram would be welcome. Final cut rendes take ages on the old pc, even the mbp beats it, until it throttles.

    The biggest question is do I buy up now with the price savings on current gen or roll the dice that 10th gen gets support quickly..... 16 core is mighty tempting!
