With people finding it difficult to choose a single best image in the best of 2008 thread, I wondered how it might look to break it into the best of each month. Then I saw chrisashdown suggest it in the thread and figured it was worth a try.

What initially put me off is the fact I went on a bit of a hiatus in January and didn't take any photographs. So mine will be off to a lame start, but I have the rest of the months covered. If anyone else is in the same boat, it wouldn't really matter if you skip a few months. Now share!

    January - hiatus.

February - "Ahh How's the Serenity?"

    March - "Inner Confrontation"

    April - "Stand Tall"

May - "Can't Help But Wonder"

    June - "Black Days"

    July - "Spiral Down"

August - "Keep the Shadow by the Light"

    September - "Chasing Storms"

    October - "Temperatures Change"

Awesome idea, these are cool to look at! Been a busy year for me with year 12.. it's funny to look back and see a gap of a month or two where no pictures at all were taken. Anyway, here's my (kinda patchy) set. Looking forward to shooting a whole lot more next year!

Wow impressive... makes me think of a collection, an exhibition, maybe even a publication too, a cheap POD like blurb or something.

Peewee its hard to fathom you re only just finishing your studies mate, there's just so much in this collection and on your website. Ι reckon the only thing that gives you away is the experimentation. Cant wait for you to settle down and find Pete

Love this thread ppl, keep it coming

Thanks mate. I have to say though...the day I stop experimenting and settle down...that's probably the day I stop making art. I just can't keep shooting the same thing. I'll shoot a series of something that interests me at that point in my life, but that eventually bores me too. I can't imagine ever finding something I stick to forever. I'd have to be in a really content place and I doubt that will ever happen.

Good to know Peewee coz I'm on the same boat, and not sure if I want/should settle down, even though my photos look like they're taken by 16 different togs. Could discuss for hours...

Not a bad idea mate, something like an OCAU Photo book for 2008. That way everyone can get involved.

Still keen for a melbourne exhibition though....

Damn this was hard, but made me think about what I shoot, and where I want to take things.

I was coming into this year having only been using my first DSLR, or any SLR, since September 2007.

January - Australia Day Fireworks at Caroline Springs
    [IMG]

    February - The Trooper
    [IMG]

March - First and only Dragonfly
    [IMG]

April - Getting into gig photography more
    [IMG]

    May - Slooow month, obviously.

June - Some random concepts. The police questioned me over this.

July - Taste of FF and 24mm Zuiko...yummy!

August - What to do without my DSLR for 2 weeks? Use the IXUS!

September - Lots of noise, on my way home, to yet another new rental unit.

October - Probably the most beautiful set of eyes I have seen!

November - Getting a lot closer in the street, and a move to colour.

December - Back to B+W for this one, but this month has signalled a definite shift in style for me.

Nice shots Ben. I remember when you posted the first pics of your new bub and you commented his little frown was comparatively happy - looks like he's brightened up a bit since then!

What a frustrating exercise - some months were dry, others were overflowing. In the end I managed to make p a set of photos, one from each month.

Here is my fave of the year, you can click through to the set starting at January by following the link...

Boy, some great sets there. Some very refreshing variety across the months even within one tog's set, too. Thanks everyone for sharing, and thanks peewee82 for getting it started.

It was actually very interesting to look through the year and see what sort of things I got up to :) And what was happening with my photo taking.
    Hope you enjoy it!
