Never preorder anything until you see reviews.

    - When will the Intel 12th Generation CPU be available retail without having to pre-order?

    - Also I assume the K model is without onboard GPU and the KF model is the one with onboard GPU. If that is so why is the K model more expensive though?

K has iGPU, KF does not. You really don’t got this “do it yourself” thing, do you?

but I need to give daddy intel my money? <3. :3

YOU RIGHT! This is good advice, should be pinned to every ADL thread, everybody should wait for lots of reviews and as you also said, wait to see what mummy AMD does.
Thats what a big brain would do... I have tiny microscopic brain sadly.

WHO KNOWS, some particular piece of hardware might come out and not work with your favourite game?
Like Destiny 2 + Ryzen 3000 or whatever it was where the game wouldn't run at all, felt like I couldn't play for an eternity waiting for that bios update or whatever it was.

Well yes of course unless you’re coming from a few generations past. There will definitely be an increase in performance.

I am betting on the 12700k to be the sweet spot.
Why would Intel not give the reviewers not 1 unit for review?
My 6th sense tells me it would perform very similar to the 12900k in general every day task 99% of the time.

    Having extra 4 x E cores on the 12900k doesn't do much.
See Apple M1 pro and M1 Max have 2 little cores + 8 Big cores. Even the OG M1 only have 4 little cores + 4 Big cores. Even Apple didn't even have more than 4 little cores maximum in their line up.

    Pricing from PCCASEGEAR
Lets unpack the dollars Given the cost of:
    12900k is $1059
    12700k is $729
    12600K is $519
that means having 4 extra E cores cost $330.
that means having 2 extra P cores cost $210.
I am pretty sure that doesn't make much sense.

So much of the dollars are being value at the 4 x E cores for Intel.

I did because I am coming from 3570k and it is almost 10 years old.
Still is my daily work computer.

Reviewers do have units for review, the embargo is just not lifted yet.

Oh you mean that specific sku, I see. Jay isn't really a review outlet, he's a techtuber content creator. I am sure Nexus Steve, Anandtech, and other large technical outlets will have more than 2 cpus available for reviewing.

Okay these guys get a different kit for review.
Only the big tech outlets get the whole - 3 lots of CPU skew for review.

Quite surprised actually. Tom’s are… let’s just say… Intel proponents.
