Yeah not interested in that gimmicky shit. I just want to play clasic BF on a huge scale and that part of the game looks flawed AF.

I am sure by the time the next Intel CPU is launch - the DDR5 will be pushing towards 10,000 double what they are offering now.

Yep, no doubt with problems in global supply chain.
I am well cured of "early adopter" phenomena in the PC world.
Looking forward to setting up my rocket lake platform....

12900k & Z690 Hero pre ordered. Just need some decent DDR5. Totally a rip off just like my 3080ti.

was fortunate to have the day off today and even more fortunate to refresh umarts cpu listings when the 12700k's were made available (now out of stock). its in the mail on its way. umart have a no bs policy. just list the goods when they have them until they sell out. all the other retailers just list whatever even if they dont have them in stock. its a real dice roll from my experiences.

picked up an asus ddr5 board from computer alliance.

thanks. i picked these up from USA newegg. shipping reckons 1 week with express so not bad. will see how they go, and maybe swap them out for some higher end gear later on down the track.

plenty of time to gut my current pc and throw it all into the media box at the tv.

found some good advice on cpu cooler mounts and what is required to retrofit previous sockets.

Regarding the Intel 12th Generation CPU:

    - i9-12900K vs. i9-12900KF - I know the K has the iGPU but aside from that is there anything else different? How about the internals etc? Which is better or are they exactly the same performance and everything? Has anyone actually done a tear down and compared the 2 cpu’s and also benchmarked?

    - People have said not to rush into buying and wait till all the reviews are out. Will there always be stock though? How long would I have to roughly wait if there is no stock?

dont think be enough of a jump for me to move from team red. although the i5 12600k looks very promising.

the 12900k looks like a heater.

Nothing feels as good as BF1942, maybe just nostalgia though. Feel the same way about Wolfenstein ET, nothing really comes close.

Pretty good article post thingy, didn't expect that kinda content from XDA, am i out of the loop and they do PC content? I thought they were only phone/android.
I am just worried people with an Asus board will just slap whatever cooler on because its got the holes for it.

I don't want anyone having lower performance or higher temperatures from a bad mount

    1. The iGPU is literally the only difference between them.
    2. There's stock now. Reviews are out now. You can make an informed decision and purchase now if you want. Stock will trickle in over the next few weeks/months and skus will cycle in and out of a stock a few times in that timeframe. Same as previous launches.

You have the least relevant username of all time.

    Watch the DDR4 vs DDR5.
    Virtually no difference.
