For him it was from a value point of view. For me, I just wanted to play with a new platform and DDR5.

Yeah I got bored and wanted something new to play with right away. Didn’t work out too well, both chip and RAM are crap clockers.

Always the case mate. Here at ocau no one ever showing a good chip. Wonder if the binned ones going only to Germany and Taiwan only :Paranoid:

Haha. Come on now, surely that wouldn't be the case. Out of interest, the 11900k you sold to Shane (that I then bought) that does 5.3ghz all core on water, was that locally purchased?

I once bought an A64 Venice 3000+ which was truly a golden sample, over 3.1 ghz on air, which sadly my DFI lanparty killed in a BIOS update (18 years ago still haunts me).

I think that one come directly from Taiwan iirc. Had too many 11900k to remember it accurate. If you check on hardware bot clearly you see that hardly Aussie guys showing a top mainstream chip. German guys keen getting sp 110 like one after another and still getting beaten by people located in Asia (some time)

But but what about us ? :Paranoid:

Weird thing with this 11900K, it doesn't like/take high vcore. 5.3ghz CB23 stable at 1.4x v, but if I push it to 1.5v+, it crashes....

    That's a heat thing.
Older cpu like 6700K 7700K 8086K 8700K are more tolerant and can run 85c
Newer ones really do like 60c or under for better results. Not saying you cannot run hotter, but it affects output in scores

Yeah I'm not fully convinced it's heat, but also not the first time I've seen this on ambient cooling. But I'm not into extreme cooling anymore so can't prove otherwise haha.

I had a 3570K which at exactly 1.42v or more would just lock up, the moment you put any light load through it, but would be happy at just below that.

Yes. And I wonder why. Only a few years ago, the most expensive boards, the flagship products, cost you around $500. It seems now you need to shell out at least twice as much.

I'm a sad panda now :upset: because you do not believe :p alright heats maybe not the accurate word.
    We all like examples right?

Cannot recall the score  say 1870
To do it I had to be up 5am -8c ambient. My morrads hold 5L coolant.
8086K set x55 for r15 like stupid vcore 1.5+ ... I saw in the run vcore peaked over 1.6 :Paranoid::wired: two goes that was it. Water heated. Score done

    To now then.
As Zarok had said R23 is a tough mofo similar to R20 and both demanding.
53x is a big ask 11900K. I had 1x only of 7x processors that completed R23 53.5 water cooled. Maybe 2x other did it 53x but that was a while ago.
