I think I'm a bit of a lost cause. This morning I threw on the 24-70 with all intentions of shooting only architecture. This afternoon I snapped maybe half a dozen frames in between a bunch of street. I was walking around like a zombie wanting to shoot architecture but being drawn to street and not doing either justice.

I've been pining for the OM-D release next month and this arvo confirmed why I want it so badly. Walking around with a brick lens attached to a FF brick not only makes me tired/sick of lifting the thing to my eye by the end, it also gets noticed a lot.

#4 is nice, really caught my eye.

Big FF body with 24-70, I know exactly how it feels. OM-D will be awesome for street, looking forward to touchscreen shooting from the hip.

    4 and 6 ;D

Wish i had some marginal talent in street, good shots.

I can see your thought pattern of something different for the 3rd shot but it doesn't seem to work that well for me. Nice try though ;D

    1. for the location of the subject compared to the others in the shot
    7. for it's action-shot-ness. Also, she looks like the dubstep dancing girl and crazy cat lady in 1 :p

    Nice set.

I often walk around those same areas, trying to shoot, but it can be a challenge with a big black dslr. *Insert rangefinder here* :D

Couldn't agree more with the FF brick comment, it makes Street really difficult sometimes.
Even if you're not pointing at people, it will still get stares from onlookers.

Nice street set too BTW. :)

Yep, I've given up on the DSLR game. Completely agree with the brick comments, D700 + 16-35 f/4 is far too big and bulky and more of a hindrance. Doesn't inspire me to shoot any more when it's such a big weight to carry around.

Love the humanity in the first two and the warped reflection of the third.

The simplicity and compositions of 5 and 6 work for me.

The others though, for me there's a balance missing or just not doing it for me.

However, great stuff as usual

Thanks all. Wasn't sure whether to go with this one over #1...? I like the surrounding of #1 (esp his position in relation to the girl) but I prefer his pose in this one.

    What say ye OCAU?

I prefer the other one. The facial expression makes it, and the background is slightly more isolated from what I see.
