    Morning,

Im doing a build for a mate and im having trouble deciding on a graphics card.

I can get a custom Gigabyte Vega 64 for $662 fgrom ebay atm

or i can get a Zotac 1080 AMP from newegg foe $662

he is getting a 1080p 144hz freesync monitor which makes me lean toward the Vega.

the rest of the system is a ryzen 2600 system

    Whichever has more Vram.

Sorry misread that, thought it was higher res :D

I'd go with the 1070Ti if it's an option over the 1080 I think.

nah id rather be one and done, its till like a year till the good shit arrives, and all the 1080 1070ti's are super over priced in aus as they are now EOL

it's expired & a few days old now, but if you hold out to the sales this weekend maybe you can snag something like this, not too familiar with the 2070 but i think its around 1080ti performance, and usually goes for 1k (could be wrong)

Yea was bummed I missed it but it it has the same performance as 1080 / 64.
Plus all the drama around chips dieing has me a little off put and yea free sync I think seals it.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being baised

Have you considered getting the video card second hand?

If hes definitely getting a free sync monitor go the 64.

Or as others have mentioned, hunt around for a 2nd 1080

Maybe consider this new reference Vega 64 for $600.60 posted?

Or wait till tomorrow when the black Friday deals come out on eBay, Amazon, Newegg, etc...

ouch, that might of been me. :( Just grabbed an asus one yesterday for $400.
If it helps, traffic got me and a 30 minute drive there became a 3 1/2 hour drive home. lol
Seen a few going for that price lately though, just gotta be quick.

Ha ha I think it might have been! In North brisbane? Bastardo!
I'd rather avoid stock coolers after the hassle I had with my old 290.
I'll keep an eye out but I don't think I'll get much better than what I've got for $2k. The 20% off eBay deals are good, if only actually saving a little more than normal sales price

ahh must of been a different one, this was well south of Brisbane. :D
Goes to show there have been a lot going for that price, they just go quickly unlike people trying to sell 1070s etc for 400... aint gunna move em at that price. lol

Free sync= Vega. Once you join the 144hz gsync or free sync club you can't go back

Otherwise if that isn't a factor I'd go with the 1080
