I was lucky to be accredited for the 24h Le Mans this year. It really was the most amazing event I have had the privilege of attending. I think the crowd on Sat/Sun was around 340,000 and walking around at 3am you would believe it.

Some superb photos in there! You get a really good sense of speed in several of the shots.

How did you find shooting fast moving cars in the darkness? Presumably its not the easiest photography challenge.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.

Shooting at night is amazing as the length of the exposure and the aperture can be set in ways not possible during the day. So you can get amazing isolation even with a 1/20th exposure. Also it means that most of the time you are able to set the camera up for an exposure and you don't need to change a thing as the light stays constant which doesn't happen during the day as things like time of day and cloud cover are always forcing you to make adjustments.

tl:dr; Shooting at night is fairly easy and enjoyable.

also fixed the third last shot with the missing tag, cheers.
    Jarrod.

I like the night picture with the 911 GT3. It looks like a toy car.

It's a pity that i could not make it to Le Mans this year.

Some absolutely amazing shots. I especially like shots 5, 7, 11, 12 (I'd love this as a print on my wall), 16 (the lighting for this is sublime), and 18. Simply brilliant!

Also very very jealous of the access you are allowed as a photographer. I know you're there to work, but it would've been pretty awesome having access to pretty much everywhere so you could get up close and personal with everything.

Yeah, you do get great access most of the time. However at Le Mans a media accreditation doesn't mean you get a vest for the full event. If your not shooting for one of the outlets that has full 24 hour access then you have to roster yourself onto a tabard. This means that each day you can book in 4 hours trackside and 2 hours in the pits(For combined sat/sun). So on Saturday you get 4 hours to shoot trackside then you get 2 hours in the pits and then another 4 hours trackside for Sunday. So out of the 24 hours you can be trackside for a total of 10. Any other shooting you want to do you have to shoot from the GA areas.
