    Hi Everyone

    last update for this week

so some off you's mite be wondering why make an engine with detail, Hell's asked me that exact question
the answer is a simple 1
how cool would it be to have it sitting on you shed work bench or the likes
1 day dropping the sump off & another day taking the heads off & that little kid in you playing mechanic
all while still being able to surf the net, or waiting for you downloads to finish:)

its time to do some block deburring/ clearancing
    tools for the operation:)

    1.JPG

time to clean up/ clearance the bottom of the bores

    2.JPG

the 2 cylinders on the rite side have been clearanced, but it gives you an overall idea on how the remanding 6 bores will look once done

    3.JPG
    "green lines"
this block i'll keep & tig weld up the main webs & use for a personal project:)

    4.JPG
the new/ latest version in the making
    "redline"

    5.JPG
    its taller by 5mm

    6.JPG
    & longer by 10mm

    7.JPG

1st up during the week i get the bores done, make the main caps

    Till next up date

    Thanx's for looking

    Hi Everyone

    Time to Crank it up:)

the choice of material for the crank is 4140, yep the good s""t

    1.JPG
centre drill both ends to start with than true them up

    2.JPG
    live centre up

    3.JPG
grab a bit of hss & shape it up on the bench grinder & than give it a hone up on a stone

    4.JPG

do a trial cut on the end

    5.JPG
at this stage we are cutting the main journals

    6.JPG
yellow line indicates the front of the crank
i'll leave the final finish cut & polish till ive done the conrod journals

    7.JPG
because the conrod journals are offset i'll be using a bit bigger piece of hss to reduce some of the flex effect
    "bigger piece on the left:)"
    8.JPG

i'm part way thru grinding up the hss, still got a couple of hours before its done
also have to make an adaptor plate to mount the 4 independent chuck to 3 jaw chuck

enjoy the rest of your weekend

    thanx's for looking

    mad_mic3 & crew:)
