There is/was a WA company that's now called FBR which was doing what I'd consider to be basically 3D printing of buildings, but in their case their technology builds using bricks.

Not exactly sure how they're going in recent times though.

A guy rocked into work last week saying how his company was doing this showed us a few vids on his phone. We had a bit to talk about due to my interest in 3d printing nowadays. His machine was a gantry style printer and i told him was thinking of building a similar machine @ home to print larger prints.

Was an interesting short conversation. Software seems to be his biggest hurtle atm.

I think a big issue is fit out of wiring, plumbing ect as that is usually within walls ect.

Some of those videos showed them printing the vals wit ha cavity so might not be too much of an issue.

Is it just me or do none of the video of that brink laying truck show it applying mortar?

They refer to an adhesive being part of the brick laying system, I guess the implication they're sending is that they're not using traditional mortar.

They apply an adhesive to the bottom of the bricks. None to the sides. The guys come by and fill in the vertical gaps with some sort of mortar/sealant after.
