Could someone print this thing, and for how much?
I can print it. I've sent you a PM with details for payment.
I'm useless at Cad so I can't whip up a sketch but, looking for a Custom Plastic Washer thing. (OD 37mm, ID 24mm, W 2.5mm).
I'm in Canberra, happy to pay postage however.
Wouldn't the depth need to be more? I interpreted W to be depth?
So did I, nah that was 2.5mm
so as someone who owns a 3D printer and could possibly help people in here out, do we need to like, register ourselves here anywhere? or basically just wait for a request and see if we can fulfill it.
i mainly work with PLA and am happy to look into anything someone wants printed and see if I can help out. have had a lot of success printing things like game controller/headset stands etc. i work FIFO so on my week off i tend to have some decent spare time. so i can offer raw print services. IE: no sanding/finishing/painting unless it is absolutely necessary but can discuss that
Just respond as people make requests.
PM me if you can make this up. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2715428
The turning handle looks kind of annoying, feel free to make it thinner at the top
 PM offer taken, thanks guys
Hopefully a simple request. Keen to get one of these printed up:
Whichever is easier. Happy to pay for materials, time, post (I'm in Brisbane).
Wow you folks are fast! I think this is sorted now. Cheers all who PMed.
Are floppy drives back in vogue now?
Looking to get 2 of these printed, i like the red color in the pics but black would be fine too
I will be getting the design files from the link below
Please pm me your quotes
Without the files you'll likely not get any quotes, or quotes that are high to make sure it doesn't cost the person printing more than they said it would be.
I know personally I would need the file to quote so that I can run it through my slicing software. (That tells me printing time and amount of filament used along with weight of the final product and dimensions to work out shipping)
Looking at the shapes in the link above would likely need quite a lot of supports in the prints of the buttons and top part as well.
IF you do buy the files (Almost $10AU for just the files) and want me to quote send me a DM with the files and can work out a quote. ( I do have quite a range of colours including red.)
HOLY SHIT! Yes please!
Unfortunately I can't lap up the claims that easily!
Fibreglass hulls and also prefab pools are made more or less using similar automation but with subtractive techniques.
I would hazard a guess to finish for hydrodynamics and looks and fit out standard creature comforts to that hull, it wouldn't end up significantly ahead in time.
Where it probably is ahead is producing completely different designs as it would almost be a direct from digital process.
As with most things 3D printing, its better for prototyping than production especially when things get larger.
I'm not terribly concerned with what's "in vogue", only that I have a few hundred floppies with data on them I want to extract and preserve (and the 3D print that was done via this thread works an absolute treat).
Retro computing and retro gaming is pretty popular as a hobby, however. If you're interested, come join us.
A mate of mine hit me up for one of these, but my printer is too small
Anyone here able to price? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2458351
