super high detail might need resin - if you want it to picture perfect, i can print resin also.

depends on size and colours etc

Probably looking at about 3 inches high, 2 inches wide, retaining correct proportions. Depth probably 2 or 3mm. Colours as close to the original as possible.

hi guys im looking to get a very simple rectangular frame/sidepanel printed for my itx case.
think of it as an open rectangle (like picture frame). i plan to stretch a piece of mesh over it to create a DIY mesh panel so thats why the centre is entirely open

the issue is it is a bit large (about 34cm x 26cm x 0.4cm) so unsure if it fits most printers. so may have to print it as 2 pieces?

i have created the base model in tinkercad and have the glb/obj/stl files ready including screw holes etc

can anyone help me and give me a quote on how much this would cost? i dont know anything about slicing sorry.
i can also modify it to create more holes/gaps in the edge to make the whole thing more hollow. but hopefully 4mm of thickness isnt too bad in terms of materials required

im based in sydney but happy to cover postage of course. its a flat sheet so would be easily posted

alternatively if someone can point me to a cheap place that cuts a small piece of acrylic, that would be awesome too

I could just laser cut/engrave one out of acrylic if u want? have u thought about how you want to mount the mesh

the acrylic is 3mm thick comes in a few colours and transparent

my printers are max 30x30 it would need to be in multiple parts if you wanted it 3d printed instead of lasercut and you have far more color choice

im estimating max $45 min $20

yeah acrylic would be best. something in frosted white or smoke grey

i just wasnt sure of the cost of acrylic and 3d printers were more proliferate that people having acrylic lasers at home lol :p

i did a quick search on aliexpress to see if anyone offered it overseas and found something for about $50usd for 2 pieces. So price seems about right

Any chance you can do 2 pieces (one for both sides)?

no idea about mounting yet. i was just going to use double sided tape. cant think of a better way

    Hey Printers

I was given a busted up Tevo Tarantula today and has a quick look, it appears it was dropped or fell as most of the acrylic bits are cracked and broken, especially for the Z mount motor, so figured I'd get some items printed while I try to repair the electronics as it seems there was either a short on the 12V line or the heatbed drawed too much current and melted the connector on the control board maybe the board is completely fried, but will test this out soon

Now I would like to get these items below printed in ABS, especially the support brackets and reinforced parts, some of the washers and mobo cover plate and case can be a suitable plastic and I'm also happy for these requests to be broken up with different people or if one person wants to take on the task to make costing easier than cool, as ideally someone in Sydney so I can collect or keep postage costs to a min

So if you guys want to cost this up and let me know, I also have 4 or 5 rolls of of ABS spools if that helps keep the cost down as by the time these are printed, I should've fixed the electronic and ready to power it on and test print

List below in no specific order

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2572598 - Tevo Tarantula Bed Support note there is a version 2 here, but I think there was some instructions on the first version hence I've included both, but require V2 printed instead which is located here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2832758

    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3286845 - Washers for above

    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2824233 - TEVO Tarantula electronics case/LCD Mount

    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2620858 - X-Rail Spool Mount

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2761136 - This one has a lot of pieces to print, because I can't tell which is which at the moment I opted to just get them all printed and I will use what I need from the project

    Thanking you all in advance!

Wondering how much it would cost for someone to print me a pair of these adapters for my shp9500. Per the comments from others who have printed them, they should be printed at 99% scale.

PLA definitely out of the question - deforms at 50-60 degrees.
PETG is about 80-90 (but still deforms in the car on a dashboard), ABS about 100-110 degrees. They're the three main types (before you get into the more exotic filaments).
Depending on the flame (intensity and distance), ABS would be the best - but there's also the possibility of ABS being toxic when burned (releasing styrene).

It will deform and melt, rather than combust.

hey mate collapse all your posts into one -there is an edit button for a reason! yes 3d printed jigs can help you bend sheet metal etc without being specific about your application help will be very limited- there is tonnes of learning material on youtube and google on these kinds of applications

plastics and fire never really mixed well in the past especially open flames- you can learn about engineering plastics and their melting and burning temperatures- how they perform near an open flame etc etc- which hold flames- which self extinguish after a while etc etc

one reason 3d printer parts, especially, enclosures are often made with pet-g is because they tend to self-extinguish more than other options such as ABS even though abs has a higher melting temperature- its failure mode is more preferred in an electronic enclosure scinario so its not as simple as "what can withstand the most heat" rather is this plastic suitable for this application

But your best bet is to speak to actual material scientists or engineers on the topic not just forum internet people when it comes to making stuff you plan to sell and mass produce later.

also this thread is for people to request prints- throw an STL file up- and somebody will probably print it for very cheap compared to a public printing bureau - specifically as a community love kinda thing scratching backs making friends etc.

no sweat no need to delete them all just 3 + in a row is hard to read, hey and welcome to the forums :) best wishes :)
also the whole "your best best to speak to engineers" i really hope it didnt come across as "ur not welcome to ask us at the forums" Just our info probably is not as awesome as a professionals :p but i learn tonnes from forums, you should def ask when you have a question tho- no such thing as dumb questions.. i think.. tho i've probably asked some dumb questions in the past hahah
