What is your CPU temp, during physics test?

65-70c according to my EVGA OSD when it is at 4.4GHz with a manual voltage close to 1.32V, that is with a monoblock installed.

That should be fun ratzz but your lower physics will annoy you (compared to your previous Intel rig).

    Looking forward to the results.

As a comparision here is my score on a 1700 4.0ghz with Ram at 14-14-14-28-50 1T.

The video card is only a mildly oc'd 1070 Founders at +220 core and 300mem

mmmm, that is quite high temps.

When I had my 6950X last year I remember never going over 55 deg on any bench. Helped me crank up the volts more to get to 4500 core/3800 cache.

Yep should be interesting. I've already had 4.1GHz from my 1700, should be able to go c12-3200 on the new RAM I would imagine, and the new Poseidon 1080ti will make a difference compared to my old Waterforce 1080.
The RAM limits of Ryzen will hurt physics of course, as will the loss of the 5.3GHz clock speed of my old 7700K. A whole new experience, that's what its all about !! Of course its always been about 'best in class' for me, I can't and wouldn't try to compete with the high cost, multi GPU rigs on cold lol but I can try to beat others with a 1700 and 1080Ti at least.

Looking forward to getting the new case finished. I'm holding off on benchies until then, it will motivate me to finish making the case

Trying to top "best in class" is the best fun. Reminds me of the time I entered the 980ti gauntlet back in 2016..

Sounds like I had bad thermal paste application or maybe it is time to ramp up my 3K RPM GT to the max :( But at idle the temp the CPU is only around 35c which is miles better when I coupled it with an Asetek 280 CLC cooler which would be at 40c.

Better thermal application is not going to give you a 15 to 20 degree temp gain under load.

Likely you cooling setup cannot remove the heat the 10 core is producing quick enough, lots of factors there but not to be discussed in this actual thread. :)

Do you mind reporting your average GPU boost clock during the run above? Great for comparison purposes. :) Cheers.

I'm pretty sure it stays on max clock throughout the test but I don't have a shot of this run.

Here's an earlier one and the gpuz graph seems a flat line.
