So you have enabled voltage control too?
Fire up GPUZ and check what temperatures you are getting.

It's been awhile since I used AMD so I'm a bit rusty.

Guys, what causes a great loss in physics score? Both my 3770K and 3930K are 1000-2000 points down, maybe more...

Im chasing a low physics score , I did get this:

    12921 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6137474

    :o

No, even my highest scores were with speedstep on. That might explain why the physics tests start slow and get faster .... but it never stopped me before ...

When I had my 680 Lightning with cpu at 4500 I got this:

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4032296

    3DMark Score P13120
    Graphics Score 13212
    Physics Score 15174
    Combined Score 10457
    Graphics Test 1 63.76 FPS
    Graphics Test 2 61.72 FPS
    Graphics Test 3 82.18 FPS
    Graphics Test 4 39.1 FPS
    Physics Test 48.17 FPS
    Combined Test 48.64 FPS

Tonight with Titan at stock and cpu at 4500 I got this:

    3DMark Score P12921
    Graphics Score 13792
    Physics Score 13549
    Combined Score 8376
    Graphics Test 1 67.6785659790039 FPS
    Graphics Test 2 66.3451156616211 FPS
    Graphics Test 3 85.39590454101562 FPS
    Graphics Test 4 39.76704025268555 FPS
    Physics Test 43.0139427 FPS
    Combined Test 38.9601631 FPS

    Something isnt right ....

    :(

turn ss off and try 4.5 again
    maybe ur oc isnt stable

the only time i get lower scores is from throttle because of an unstable oc, then the cpu trips down and gives u balls for the physics test

assuming ur ram is running at 2400 c9 and not 1333 ;)

It's all the same settings I used before, yes different CPU and mobo with same rams. Yes ram is at 2400c9. Old cpu would pull 15k+ physics at 4500 all the time. Even my 3770K lost 1000 points with this HDD, maybe time for a clean install, or I am missing a setting somewhere.

    :(

Its best to bench with SS off, but some boards bios play weird when you do some things, I had one that hated any of those features enabled, it wouldn't be stable even at stock clocks. Maybe non-SS just fucks with your bios? Unlikely though. Same model CPU, same clock speed should score the same give or take run to run variation.

My Titans own the 680L's (even at well over 1400MHz) from my testing.

    Thanks bro :)

My problem is when I get good stuff I sell it to look for better and am always playing catchup from then on ...

SS - what is that anyway lol ..

Re 680L - yes this Titans gpu score is fine, at stock it's 500 points up on my best 680L gpu score, it's my CPU scores that are letting me down.

I have a spare SSD so it won't hurt to try a clean install, that HDD has been on so many different combos it's not funny .

My R4F wouldn't even boot with the Titan in until I updated the bios ... fun

And BF3 was a let down, so far it feels no different to the gtx670 I just sold.

    :D

    ss -> speedstep :)

    are u benching on win8 or win7? coz i lost around 3k on win8
try a clean install...on an ssd, even though it doesnt make a difference.. well it kinda does but yeah haha

which reminds me: is it better to bench on safe mode? coz that shuts most processes off

Speedstep aka cpu down-clocking which also pulls voltages. I've never turned it off even with my 3960x @ 5375mhz.

I want to re-do my runs, all of mine were done on an old OS. It definitely makes a difference to at least 3dmark 11 scores with a fresh as hell/stripped OS.

i was thinking with speedstep you can get max clocks and it'd be slightly more stable but wouldnt the cpu throttle around in between runs or during some non cpu intensive runs and deplete ur score a bit?

Yeah Im just starting, I knew my cpu would give your gpu a score boost, so its good to see it happen.
