did some quick runs to compare my 8700k with my ryzen 1800x build

    30854 - Fire Strike - msi armor 1080GTX SLi - Intel i7 8700k @5.1ghz - Asus z370a prime - 32g 4x8 corsiar vengance 3000mhz@ 3100 - illusionist or ball0fire in futuremark - water X-62/air stock armor heatsinks - link

and if you want to see the compare results comparing the 8700k to 1800x
where the only difference is the mobo and cpu (and both mobos were asus primes one z370a and other x370) here

A 1600 has 6 cores, not 8... unless you got one of the freak ones with the extra cores?

Sharing some recent results, dunno y but I feel my 6950X bottle necked my Titan Xp in TSE as I noticed 7900X owners get higher score than me with a 1080Ti with lower graphics score, 8700K @5.2 and above beats the crap out of my 6950X in fire strike :(

Just for shits and giggles, I just tried to run Firestrike with my 2GB GT710. I even overclocked it :D +100 GPU, +150 VRam. Ryzen 1700 @ 4GHz, 32GB c16 2666 @ c15 2933. 3.4 fps on Graphics test 1.. ouch.. but hey, at least it ran. Skydiver was a little better though. I didn't bother completing either run, it was just boring watching such low frame rates.

I have a ROG Poseidon 1080Ti Platinum sitting here, as yet unused. I'm still caught between tiny ITX and full sized rig. The Poseidon is 1.7Kg and 3 slots, so umm no tiny ITX here. This beast is fucking huge. All I can see at the moment is that if I use it, I am going to have to completely redesign my custom case, at least tripling its size.. and yes, the tiny case has a custom loop (280 rad) in it already for the CPU, just needs a couple more liquid lines and it would be fine if the card was physically small enough.

I'm going to pick up a 4GB 1050Ti LP in the next couple days, that will give me some idea of whether I can tolerate less than 1/4 of the performance of this beast to achieve the preferred tiny ITX. Not being a gamer, its probably going to be a hard decision.

Watch this space.. I may have a Poseidon for sale very soon. Or not.. so tempted to abandon the small case and go balls out with this beast. Either that or it appears I'll have to build 2 rigs.. an Intel overclocker for the Poseidon, and a 1050Ti for the Ryzen productivity box.

    Congratulations

Looks like my top spot will fall ey .... I had big software issues trying to get the GPUs to clock as high in Sli as they could seperately. If you get past that you will score a lot higher.

    :)

Do a fresh install of windows and run it again :) perhaps around 3%. That is what I remembered from the gaming benchmarks I watched after security patch.

I detect you are an enthusiast that loves building.......

    so....

Make one rig an open air watercool bench with your 1080Ti....so much better for benching than an enclosed rig.....

Then build another rig for your daily/gamer....

With firestrike, a 5.2GHz 6 core is always going to produce better physics score than a 4.5GHz 10 core....

You would have been better keeping your 5960X and seeing how high it could have gone? what did it go to?

I mean, look at the golden 5960X Aussie had..... hard to beat until now(ish)... many many months later

I thought about pushing it to 4.7 but my AIO was not enough too keep the CPU cool around that time :( It seemed other than TSE and TS all FS tests love highly clocked 8c16t CPU.

I would have swapped out the AIO to custom water and kept the 5960X...but that is just me..
