Just a quick question, would it be safe to drink vodka from a 40yo bottle previously unopened?

    I'm guessing no?

40 years is a long time. But as long as it was kept well it should taste almost like it would have if you opened it 40 years ago.

pic request seconded. Vodka is not something one normally stores so it would be interesting to see the bottle.

OK i'll try and get some pics up asap.

Oh it might not be 40 years old, on the label it says 67 but in pen someone has written 1971, so almost 40 years.

BTW the brand is Karloff, from googling looks like cheap vodka. I'm a whiskey drinker so don't deal with vodka :p

Spirits dont age in the bottle btw, so the people implying it'll somehow be magically good just because it's 40 years old are likely to be disappointed

I would think as long as it smells fine it's probably fine

They arent spirits, they're liqueurs. Come to that port and sherry do too, albeit nowhere near as rapidly as in a cask. neither here nor there
