Im willing to spend up to $50 on 2:1 speakers. NEW only and from a store I can go visit in Melbourne.

Ive been looking at the Logitech and Creative ones what are other good brands?

much of a muchness with that budget. The Logitech X230s are quite good. Think they've been replaced by the X210's now which IMO aren't as good.

For about $120 you can get some Logitech Z-4's.. I know it's twice ur burget, but they're ALOT better than any $50 ones.

You rekon? In my personal experience (work in a retailer) the z4's are very overpriced for what they are. They have slightly better clarity at low volume but even at max volume they are really damn quiet. I've been really impressed with the Logitech X230s, for the money they are an excellent speaker.

With $100 you might be able to get a 2nd hand DSE amp/DSE bookshelf speakers....
