Should I stick with the 6900xt and hope Ray Tracing and Video perfomance becomes better?

Hi Folks, I just received this 6900xt ASRock Phantom OC Card and i'm now actually not sure if I want to keep it for the following reasons!

I Do play Games and I do video editing and both of those use NVENC for the Video Editing which is far more optimized than AMD and also the Ray Tracing which as im sure you all know its much better.

I do have a 5950x and ROG dark Hero x570 Mobo but i'm still not sure about this GPU and may have bought it in haste.

I would like some honest opinions if I should sell this brand new 6900xt still boxed for maybe a 3090 or wait for a 3080Ti etc

Whats everyone's thoughts on this honestly I would like to know because I don't want to regret this down the track

    Thanks in advance![IMG]

You’ve answered your own question I reckon. I decided on a 3080 as NVEnc, DLSS and RT made it a compelling case to stay NVidia.

Doesn't the AMD card have its own encoder as an alternative to NVENC?

But this is the old x264 version, isn't the 6000 series using x265?

Maybe a little bias based on my own purchase but I'm extremely happy with the 3080, so I say go Nvidia.

I had the same issue, I would have liked to keep the 6900 but performance in video editing and blender was just too much.

Ray Tracing isnt an issue as far as I am concerned, and do it very different to NVIDIA so everything won't work well ATM, once games and blender start being optimised to use AMDs RT engines, it will be just as good as nvidias, it's not like it's some secret how to make it work well.

The 3090 though is an amazing card, the memory, the performance, well worth it imo.

NVENC can do 10-Bit HEVC with HDR. Like I said, it's not even close right now.
