If GFWL is any indicator it's going to suck.

At least 16gb is going to make for a nice fat preload for the rest of you who are still stupid enough to buy it:sick:

Steam data doesn't bother me on Internode, just make sure it only gets it from the Node cache of steam, free data.

Plus, what does dedicated servers matter? ISP's will still host servers, and there will be an online key check surely?

I think the old COD crowd that's kept the COD series alive this long wants their dedicated servers back because they want to play them at LANs without connecting to some centralised match-making system. Further more old school mappers/modders have been sidelined since the status of the custom content is unknown.

And there are no ISP host servers (without dedicated servers naturally). So enjoy match making with some American server on the other side of the planet, or put in a team with a bunch of players that cant speak your language.

Oh... and no more clan servers.

So either Activision thinks their new business model is the best thing since sliced bread or they are in for a rude awakening.

Cod4 didn't cost $90 usd on steam... I bought the game with the package, box, manual, gfx, DVD with art, etc for $70 on release. $90 USD for a game download is fucking ridiculous.

Did you look at the link I posted a bit after that post? It was originally $50 US then it jumped up to $88.50 a week or so after release.

If thats the case then just create a new steam account for the game and sell the account with the dvd.

Suppose you could do that with download version as well.

Not even the slightest chance I will be buying this off Steam. $90USD? I burst into laughter when I saw that. They'll be lucky to sell a single copy at that price.

Cdwow has it for $60AUD. Once they change their mind about not having dedicated servers, I might consider buying it @ $60.

Not going to give them my money when there's this kind of blatant and unreasonable profiteering. And they wonder why people pirate video games

I never knew what it ment by no dedicated servers, but "NO ISP SERVERS" wtf, that just ruins MP entirely.

    Screw this.

People pirate video games for hundreds of reasons. They would have still pirated it if it was like the old games, just like they'll pirate it now.

Fark - well I guess that's how most of the console games do multiplayer... still if the ISP's can work some sorta script out that you can add a bunch of ISP accounts and connect to them first, that might get around it.

But yes - that just sucks. I might have to give this one a miss :(

Yeah but when there's only been dedicated Windows based programs at the launch of a new game, they get them going... so I think it could be doable.
