    its a record
cleaning out my junk, fired up a giga fm2 g1 sniper board(a88x) with a 5600k cpu
(board was god struck & blew lan)

with a shitting amd cooler, starts at 45c & climbs, climbs, 90c ! then shuts down
ok, a dual core cpu, same thing ? put a zalman on (alloy) same.

will a better cooler pull it down 30c ? i dont think it will

so Q is, could it be damaged

in comparison my asrok a88x i just swapped out, is 45-50 under same conditions.

try a different board yet? could VRM/cap on the board push too much voltage? at this stage I guess just test with a different board and see. good luck

It would've throttled itself, it's hard to damage a cpu.

I was going to suggest checking for firmware updates, it may be mis-reporting.

it had latest on it, so i dropped it 1, same thing
but, its stable, as once in windoz, it reports from 40-70 under stress & doesnt shutdown
even with a crappy alloy amd h-sink & no paste.
only 1 problem left, when you shut it down, it restarts, but not always straight away, sometimes 30 min later.
