Acer has lost the plot on pricing.

At 75hz a 1080 will should do for most games.

    Titan XP would be preferable

1080 struggles at 4k 60hz, it will not do for most games at 75hz.

This monitor isnt a 4K monitor....

But aside from that, you wont be playing everything on Ultra but my 1080 does 3440x1440 on most games at between 80-100 fps

    It's 74% of a 4K monitor....so as a rough approximation (assuming that performance scales linearly when resolutions are similar), 60fps / 0.74 = 81fps

If a 1080 pushes 60fps at 4K, it should reach 75fps on this oddball 24:10 thing.

    Necro time!
I'm now on the search for an Aux monitor to suit one of these, a 1600x900 or even a 16x12.
I'm really enjoying the screen, but I'm no power user...

Not really as the technology existed both to drive and display that level of resolution 18 years ago so not much has changed since then except for perhaps the minor incremental improvement to 75 Hz.

...and the most useless attempted epeen one-upping post award goes to you.

    1. 3840x1600 does indeed take a lot of grunt to drive at 75Hz in modern games (which is obviously what was being referred to). Even today 2 years later that remains true.
    2. Are you seriously trying to use enterprise level monitors which requires triple display inputs to work up to a maximum of 48hz as some kind of comparison to this monitor? Running a game at that resolution 18 years ago (unlikely to have been supported by most) would have resulted in like 1 fps for gods sake.
    3. You're trying to epeen one-up post from over 2 years ago.

    Grow up.
