OMG Downtown... Being a Darwin boy we never had anything like that up there.. my first experience of anything like a game arcade was Downtown while in Adelaide as a state Tenpin Bowling rep. Vague memory now has it as a bit of a dive, but at the time, it was mega exciting :D

The Adelaide hills are pretty nice. Lots of bush walking opportunities, small towns, beaches are pretty nice too. It's not too far to go down south to the coast either. I think having the doggo will be restricting. I have never been to Tassie but I really want to go for reasons others have already mentioned.

For those heading to Adelaide with doggo's - we're going back for Xmas (I have even years as Adelaide-free, so looking forward to next year!) and staying at the Hilton as it's pet-friendly. Was honestly surprised as I was expecting to have to stay in a shithole motel to find a place for our pups to stay with us...

Handbag dogs are quite a hot accessory item, I can see where the demand comes from.

That's good, but you can't take your dog to lots of places and you can't leave them in the car. Do they have a dog creche?

Ahhh but is it all dogs? There are places in Sydney tht allow dogs (Pier One for example), but they've got to be something like under 20kgs or something like that.

I'm sure he loves living in Melbourne, having to pay a small fortune for the pleasure of sitting in traffic on the way to work.

Melbourne is the epitome of "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to Live"... Adelaide is the opposite.

Lived there, loved living there. Just got back in fact.

Theres some nice nature and what not. SA is great, adelaide is just a city to live in. Unless you like the zoo, museums, art etc most city is the same. Just the same shops pretty much really.

The nightlife is ok, no silly laws and plenty of good yiros (souvlaki) after a late sesh.

    Would I holiday there? No
Would I move the the Adelaide hills and live 25 mins from the CBD yet feel like im in some of the most amazing hills? Very much so.

Moved from Syd when I was young. Have lived and visited many places in the world. Now live in Adelaide 15 yrs + and it's a pretty cool place but has an Airport.

If your below 40 Visit in Mad March, go to the fringe, check out Mclaren valve over the Barrossa. Clipsal's on too if that's your thing (not mine). You wont' be disappointed.

Over 40 head towards the peninsula and really get away to somewhere quite an pretty scenic, Not great ocean road scenic but not much and untouched. I'd recommend other placed not in SA if that's your thing.
