looks like much of muchness... The Acer in fact has a better referesh rate range than the LG and looks it like they cover the same color gamut.

You colour issue is more a problem with your calibration rather than the panel. Play around with your Contrast/Gamma/Brightness setting both on the monitor and with your VGA display drivers in Windows.

I thought maybe the ips panel on the lg might have better colour compared to the acer va panel.

I purchased the acer for $600 and can get the lg for $650 , I can stretch my budget to $750 if there is anything else worthwhile , prefer ultrawide as i have enjoyed it much more than i thought

It only makes a difference it it covers a higher percentage on the color gamut. Both these panels covers the same 99% sRGB / 73% NTSC.

Ok so compared to the lg the acer should be about the same , no other monitor you would recommend

Asus XG32VQ - higher res and higher color gamut coverage. These should be around that 750 price point.

I can't comment on the colours, but I can say that QHD (2560x1440) looks so much better than 1080p, especially at this screen size. You'll just need to make sure your video card is up to the job, assuming you want to play games on high settings.
