Couldn't find a thread so though I'd start one.

While aoe2HD was/is awesome, it still has issues such as online multiplayer lag...

I loved age of mythology too, hopefully this has much better online play :)

Wish they would make a new AOE games for pc rather than constantly revamping the old ones

Never played AoM, but I'll give it a go when this version goes on sale. Still hoping for a HD version of AoE1, hopefully with remastered assets too rather than just scaling up the resolution (and a choice to switch between the two like the Monkey Island Special Editions would be awesome).

Shit!!! I had totally forgot about that. AOM was still such an amazing game in its day. I remember getting it for Christmas and playing it non-stop. I still remember the cyclops had a special move where they picked up an enemy and threw them *rag doll effect*.

Played the original and loved it so preordered it. 9 hours to go. I got the original with a graphics card and played it a lot. I loved cat and mouse where some one ran around as Anubis and you had to try stop them.

So what's the verdict? I'm liking the updated engine. Looks good at 1600 with everything flat out, need to unlock the camera to zoom out and make the most of it though

Few online games through Steam have been pretty juddery, while regular old Gold edition works fine. Might still need some tuning for MP. Otherwise, worth the gold

Absolutely. The dwarven campaign included seems pretty good, too. Just finished the first mission

Is this a game to get if you're nostalgic only? I never played it but it looks interesting and my mate is big on it, but not sure if I won't enjoy it without the history.
