I'm not sure what I did, but yesterday I thought I would try re-enabling fast writes on my P3V4X. I used to get lockups when running the helicopter demo in 3dMark2000 with 4X + f.w., but it now works.

    The drivers I am using:
Nvidia beta 10.80 (on a Leadtek GeForce DDR)
    DirectX 8.0a
    Via 4 in 1 4.28 (?)
I am not sure what 4 in 1s I am using at the moment. Is there any way of telling?

Now I am trying to work out what the difference is that now makes it work. Could it have been swapping the celeron 433 with a P3? Adding another 256MB RAM (yeah right)? DirectX 8? 4 in 1s? Or maybe the 10.80 drivers?
Oh yeah, the 3DMark 2001 scores running at 4x, with and without fast writes, are virtually the same. But at least I am able to use the technology I paid for :)

Using the 1005 BIOS. Voltage tweaked to 3.6V using the undocumented jumper.

I tried OCing to 910MHz last night at 1.75V and 3DMark booted me back to the desktop during demos and benchmarks :( . Going back to 882 the system is rock solid. Oh well, looks like 1.8V may be needed... must check cooling.
