Yeah, there were ten of them in one of the local Aldi stores yesterday. No idea on the other two stores as we have three in town.

Just went to a couple of stores over lunch, lots there but none of the one I want (I don't want the Street Fighter, would rather the Rampage one).

Didn't think to check which games. I am just up the road in Toowoomba so can have a look and see if there is a Rampage one for you.

Had to go tonight. Teenage son decide to eat all of the things. Aldi at Clifford Gardens has three Rampage cabs and still the ten machines total.

Cool, bit of a ways away, but if I can't find one local might have to go for a drive.

Cheers for that, I've checked a couple around, only SF.

Ha, Clifford Gardens, what a blast from the past. Lived 5 minutes walk from it as a 12yo.

These are also for sale at Toymate stores in Sydney. The only one that has it in stock is Bankstown (ex-TRU building), which has 3 left.
They are $799 there, but they will price match for you. www.toymate.com.au

I am sitting next to an arcade cab (bought years ago from OCAU as a matter of fact). Its bloody huge, I can understand wanting a smaller machine - but this is too small imo.

If they wanted a smaller setup, a table top offering would be great.

I have a 5 year old who is just getting into arcade games and a 3 year old who loves to imitate. If they do a price drop, I might be tempted to pick one of these up.

They have a Streetfighter arcade machine up at the Cash Converters which is gigantic, as you say. You don't realise how enormous those things are when you see(saw) them in a pub or arcade. When they are "out of context" you realise their size. You need a big bit of space or a dedicated man cave like Elvis to consider one.

I just had a go of a Galaga in wallmart. I was actually very pleasantly suprised at how nicely this thing is put together.
And it actually played really nice, the screen looked crisp, with no bleeding or rubbish distortion.. actually very surprised.. might pick one up for the kids..

Make sure you cover the control panel with clear contact or something. Apparently a common problem is the control panel decals rub off after only a day or two of using them. Arcade 1up apparently also have some clear covers you can put on top but you need to call their customer service.

$299 is a great price though.

It's a nice price but bottom line is I'm not going to spend much time playing those games, at any price.

I'd play the SF2 family, but I'd roll my own rig (controls in particular) for that.

Great for people who wouldn't, however.
