I heard a dirty rumour that the Chinese government wasn't subsidising postage as much any more, so that went up and/or stores factored it in (the ones that advertise "free shipping" but just include it in the price).

No idea if that was true or BS though.

I recently set up the MT-32 again with my P200 DOS box. I've currently got the audio output from it going into the line-in for the sound card, but there's issues (mainly noisiness and the card setup I want) with that so I wanted to combine the audio with an external mixer with preamps for input channel isolation.

I found these "AIYIMA" ones that apparently have 3.5mm stereo inputs and outputs (rather than the more common mixer style of individual channels using XLR or 1/4" phone jacks):

It looks very similar to the "naked" boards that are available from the same brand:

which do look like they're wired up for stereo, so hopefully they work.

Have you ever been able to find a N64 expansion pack (the RED top memory pack thing to replace the black one)

Apparently these use a very difficult-to-source memory (Rambus RDRAM). There was rumor of someone who found a stockpile and flogged them all off on eBay, but outside of that one-off, I've never seen them anywhere.

I was lucky enough to get one with my second hand N64. I don't know if the community can ever make a third party replacement, but it sounds unlikely.

Fast wiring connectors, in my never ending effort to turn lighting control and automation wiring in to a form of art...

Aliexpress makes a huge difference to my life here in the Phils, where basically, if it is not something that can by identified by any random dude off the street, it is impossible to find. Simple things - like 6mm green wall plugs, or one of those rubber oil filter removers, or a conduit snake... Heck, even Cat 6 patch panels, and dimmable LED down lights are a mission...

    Z...

What are current delivery times like to Aus? I looked at an item and it suggested early April... surely not?

    Hows that keyboard?

I recently made some purchases on Amazon, couple of Asus gaming GT501 headsets for the kids and a mech keyboard for around 25bucks, which suspiciously looks like the one you got. And tell you what, after using the keyboard for a few minutes I went and ordered 2 more.... They are awesome... Box says good for 50 million presses each button, but not sure how a curate that would be.. either way, very impressed with those keyboards... Very!

The palmrest as is is completely shit, but I've attached it so there is a 6mill gap between it and the keyboard and in that regard it's absolutely awesome!!

My guess is it’s the delay till it gets onto an international postal route.

I’ve had several things sit a China customs outbound location for weeks to months then I have it in under a week when it starts moving again. I’d not be surprised if the ones that took months went by boat

I got a DC SD card and it took a week but I chose an Aussie seller, same with the 3D printed tray.

All my early December orders have now been delivered, 6-7 weeks for delivery over xmas is ok IMO.

There are huge amounts of these things on eBay. For around 40 bucks, which is less than they cost originally.. so that's why probably no one has bothered to knock up new ones.

For $40 they're probably the jumpers without RAM, and not the memory expansion units that are 2-3 times that on average.

Nah, it's the ram expansion, I know what the jumper pack is. I just literally recently bought one for 55, but included Marajomas mask. That's US mind you.

    But seriously, there are loads..

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/373319892307

That's one of the first ones that shows up, 50 bucks Inc shipping... These seriously are everywhere... And they are region free. Lol maybe just not in Oz?

Brought one of these recently to do some CRT calibration and it works great.

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001023322887.html

Has more functions than the picture shows so you can do more than just calibrating the colours which can be seen on their website. And yes it comes in that nice little blue zipped white checked bag which was a neat touch! Overall the quality of the item is excellent and the display it outputs is nice and crisp. Very impressive little unit.
