Alternatives to tarsnap

    Moving off tarsnap as my main backup because of the slow restore speeds.

    Anyone recommend alternatives?

    Restic - no compression ( still the frontrunner )
    Borg - doesn't support S3/etc/etc
    Duplicati - eww, mono , (EDIT: hmm, maybe got Duplicati and duplicity mixed up)
    duplicity - incremental but no dedup

    General rule of thumb for US speeds/latencies is aim for whatever is geographically more westward.

    Objective testing is always better, of course.

    In the defense of colin percival, it's not like anyone else in the industry gets along with theo either :p

    I've got a mate (and current Google employee) who goes hiking with Theo once a year. So I can anecdotally offer at least one person who does. :)
