And it makes the boards cheaper, with no onboard graphics. I guess it's a matter of node shrinks increasing on-die real estate as well.

What amazed me about the Phenom II x6 1090, is that with DDR2, you can use ECC sticks and buy 16GB for about $40 for the system.

Certainly gives a good upgrade to an older system.

Have put the following on the main page, so easy to find.

Hopefully they make platform comparisons a little clearer. But be aware there's some uncertainty around PCIe lane usage on the southbridge, AMD's footnotes don't make 100% sense to me, but pls point out if anything is a miss.

Wonder how much the 370 boards will cost? I really don't want to pay another $300 or so for a mobo (my crappy X99 board cost that!)

It's the upper mainstream chipset, motherboard manufacturers have commented on having parity with the intel parts so think around $180-$350 depending on the board you pick.

it's essentially a sister to the Z270 Hero, which is a ~$400 board. I'd expect similar pricing

Sorry for not noticing sooner but all 3 ryzen are the same (8c16t) except for clocks? Unless they are binned wont everyone here just buy a 1700 and oc a bit more? Silly question but i need to ask, they are unlocked right?

    :)

all Ryzen are unlocked and yes the higher versions will be binned. IMO if you are going to be an early adopter go for the 1800x. However if you are patient once the initial rush is done the good silicon will trickle down the line as the high volume units will be the cheaper variants.

it seems they are only releasing the 3 8 core on launch day.. that could change though. It's the only SKU's kicking around currently.

EYO pre-order prices for the Asus boards are up!

    Asus Prime B350M-A AM4 AMD B350: $128.70
    https://videocardz.net/mobo/asus-b350m-prime-a/

    Asus Prime B350-PLUS AM4 AMD B350 : $152.60
    https://videocardz.net/mobo/asus-b350-prime-plus/

    Asus Prime X370-PRO AM4 AMD X370: $245.85
    https://videocardz.net/mobo/asus-x370-prime-pro/

Asus Crosshair VI Hero AM4 AMD X370: $380.63
    https://videocardz.net/mobo/asus-x370-rog-crosshair-vi-hero/

    http://www.eyo.com.au/items_c11_s1875_motherboards-socket-am4.html

    ETA 24th

for comparisons sake, EYOs prices for Intel equivilents:

    Prime B250M-A $128.87 (vs $128.70)
    Prime B250M-Plus $142.92 (vs $152.60)
    Prime H270 Pro $183.06 (vs $245.85)
MAXIMUS IX HERO $417.53 (vs 380.63)

So mid-range B350 and X370 not looking as good value, until you remember the Intel H and B chipsets don't support OCing!

well that didn't last long....poof they are gone :)

considering the ASUS tax the others should be good...looking forward to getting rid of this ASUS board.

find it weird the pricing on the pro board though...
