its included on their list of coolers that will have brackets that can be ordered for them
Pre Ordered the 1700 from Ebay . With the current 10% off it came to $450 delivered . Comes with a heatsink but my Cooler Master Hyper212X does have an orderable free AM4 bracket . I rang the Disty and they said they will supply them free but won't have any in stock till the end of March . Otherwise I can order direct from CM for about $15Au in postage .
My old I7 870/H55 is well and truly ready for retirement .
I think I'll wait for a review before I order the board and ram to see how they overclock and how real world performance is affected by ram speed/timings .
will be a nice jump up from an 870
Considering I used to upgrade every 12/18months this has been a ridiculously long spell and after 7 years it sure should be reasonable jump .
Seems some retailers have AM4 mobo's in stock already . Hopefully someone in W.A has a decent selection by next week .
Pls post review links here!. will list them in OP .
note - am Only posting 'official' reviews in the OP. i.e those running production parts (that exludes a couple that have leaked out already)
So I can't link the really dodgy Iranian ES review?
I think it's caused enough trouble in the other thread hehe
I should have said, only posting official reviews in REVIEW section," Tests with dodgy bios' and Engineering samples masquerading as reviews "in the leaks section
That was the most single infuriating thing I've read in a long time, regardless of them stating it's a ES chip etc it's still misleading users and not indicative of retail performance
Embargo should be 9AM Central time US.. so 12AM EST (1AM DST!)
(added to main page)
Unfortunatly you'll have to refesh page to update.. ye old bb
-edit, there's confusion re the time, but at least some will likely be releasing their reviews on ET so updated.. MIDNIGHT for us QLDers
And they're starting

Ironic that the AM4 socket reminds me of the last AMD cpus that shook the tree - Clawhammer 754
Stayed up, pants down, toilet roll in hand, let go Ryzen!
I see Ars changed the headline on that review - it was a bit pissy.
So for gamers seems like 7700K is cheaper and faster? The AMD price/performance win seems to only be relevant if you include tasks most people dont do.
some interesting comments
Disabling SMT seems to improving gaming performance ...so maybe a software issue?
If the new xbox scorpio has zen then its likely to get much better optimised.
ill be waiting until 1600x and buy that
will be as good for gaming at 4k and much cheaper than the 7700k
and will be a nice upgrade from my i73820
