Thought the 6800 would be lower, the xt is a little lower than what I thought. They are leaving plenty of room to have lower specced cards. But as per consensus, I’ll be trying for an xt.

Also leaving plenty of room to get pegged by retail gouging ;).

So ... if the 6800XT does in fact sell for around $1049 ... and is in fact as fast as the 3080 ...

If the 6800 is priced so closely to the xt, what're the chances we can flash the bios up to an xt.

Yes, good point. Everyone should buy a 6800 and not a 6800Xt and flash the BIOS.

This is the way... I get a card.

I heard a rumor that this is 100% true, in fact there is a big chance the 6800 can turn to a 6900. Yep you should all buy the 6800

Heh this would be classic AMD and it would make me happy it the 6800 can be flashed with good success rate to xt, heh all the 9600 -> 9800pro flash (IIRC)

EDIT: On a serious note, I am wondering if I should put the PSU fan upwards for my build. I chose the Corsair 4000D RGB over the airflow but didn't realise there is no rear venting on the cards at all.. I'll have 3 fans up front, I'll prob add 140m exhaust and maybe a 140m up as well.. the psu might be a bit warmer but its 1000w and wont be stressed .. hmm

Probably doable. The question is whether it is practical? I suspect that the device will be thermal throttling given the substantial increase in the 6800xt's cooler compared to the 6800.

Don't need rear exhaust with a water block on the card :D.

So tempting to grab a reference card and stick the EK AIO on it if retailers hold to that price :leet:.

Watercooling/Phase etc days are well behind me - dont have time for maintenance (even though I ran my last WC build 3 years without any maintenance haha). Not looking at really OCing anything, cards sound like they will run pretty quiet so D15 and decent airflow is such an easy pleb life :)

Though these are famous last words...
