Nvidia the budget high end option. Whod a thunk.

I know PLE evga cards are an outlier. But from what I'm seeing the 6800xt is more expensive than all the entry level 3080s.
    Noise is really good.

I have a 887mv undervolt at 1920mhz I think. And have a fan profile that keeps it well under 70c at 65% fan speed.

No issue with noise and I use open back headphones.

I'm not spending more than $1100 for a 3080 or 6800 XT, however long I have to wait. It's getting silly.

US pricing is ~$800 for decent AIBs. Fuck.
Sounds excellent. Was sourcing the case much of a pain in itself? Looks like reliable shipping but a long wait for it.

I have a 3080 coming on the 3/4th Dec. First ground up build inc monitor, KB + Mouse so cant recycle GPU for any longer .. that would be adulting again and I've thrown caution to the wind :) I did put an order in for the XFX as well, see which comes in first and make a final decision. Though I want RTX for CP2077.... Ladbrokes should start a betting page on these paper launches :)

Yeah, I am thinking of reaching out to some people in the US and see if they can snag me an EVGA card. Pretty set on Nvidia for CP2077 now because I want to have the choice of ray tracing. Still happy to wait though so no rush here really.

I almost forgot I still have a reference RX 6800 XT pre-order from that other paper launch. I should really ring up and cancel it tomorrow lol

Not sure why there are crickets from Scorp.... no update on 6800xt's at all tonight?
Newegg in the US has updated with a lot of models, but still no stock.

Maybe they will stay true to their word and offer them to those who had orders cancelled. Don't even know if i really want it anymore at these prices.

Nitro+ Appears on par or better than 3080 with reasonable overclocking but consumes more power than stock 3080. Will be interested to see how 6800xt AIB's compare with 3080s that are undervolted. Perhaps AMD is at the optimal efficiency point, meaning that undervolting may not be as effective as on 30 series cards?

Yeah, maybe. Holding back to give them to the queue first.

These prices are ridiculous. As I said before in the thread, AMD doesn't have DLSS yet and RT support isn't good but raw power is on par with 3080. If I have to pay 3080 prices, I may as well get a 3080. So I'll either wait for either a reference 6800xt or lower prices on a 3080.

    It's obvious I won't be getting a card tonight. I'm out.

Well, Ladies and Gents, this generation has been fun  I look forward to RDNA 3 hype thread 18 months from now.

Good morning I'm off to bed , with a thousand box more in my pocket that I would have liked. Probably enough to buy a console.... :wired:

It's like most of you expected stock tonight, despite multiple rumours that stock isn't arriving until Dec 4th.

Holy shit, just had a quick look at umart. That's quite the price jump. Guess nvidia wins this round after all. Big sads.

I mean comparing similar models at the same store, $1600 for a 6800xt TUF, vs $1400 for a 3080 TUF.... wtf
