I was tempted by that 6800 that got posted but then better judgement prevailed.

Well realistically a "normal" system would be drawing what? 450w when gaming? Not sure what else they think people are running that'd require an 850w PSU.

GPU manufacturers recommended PSU wattage is somewhat arbitrary, a GPU doesn't know or care what the limit of your PSU is, it just needs a rock solid 12V and enough current to fuel it's thirst for power.

The SF600 is a beast, will happily supply all 600W over the 12V rail without issue. As long as you're not running a monster CPU or massive CPU overclock you shouldn't be getting that close to the PSU 600W rating. You shouldn't have any psu issues.

They're just covering their bungholes because a yumcha 600w power supply will put out less power than a 450w good quality one.

Managed to grab a RX 6800 off JW today at the $949 price (didn't realise they raised the prices afterwards) after checking them every couple hours - drove all the way up to Castle Hill to pick it up, but have it in my machine now finally!
They did say that this was new stock, not someone cancelling, and that the stock just randomly comes in (they only had 1 at Castle Hill when I ordered). Couldn't say if there was going to be any XTs coming though.

Initial messing around has it boosting to 2.45ghz - 2.53ghz max, and 2150mhz for the RAM. Good for 15.9k graphics score in 3DMark Time Spy which is around 9.5% lower than the average 3080 and 6800 XT scores.
